Spesh has sent me aluminum links as they are currently out of stock on carbon links, and they are sending me a new frame as mine is scratched from the incident. So I have been riding my bike while I wait for a new frame and carbon links. I’m expecting a call from an engineer at specialized to talk about what happened, and they are quite interested in investigating. As far as I know I am the only person this has happened to. At least the warranty process has been very good so far.

Interesting question. I hit a big drop to flat at high speed. I’m guessing I blew out the shock, going to check the psi and see if I just blew a seal, which could have put unfair stress on the link. If the shock has air, and the HSC is turned where I left it, then I think we have some defective links. If you take a look at those links they do look long and skinny. S-Works boasts about having all carbon links, maybe that’s going to be an issue for them, although apparently I am the first besides one other pro rider to snap one.

Got my new frame in yesterday. Not super stoked on a 3 month wait, but I guess they had to re design their link material as other folks were smashing links as well.

I’m 5’11” I tried the S4 a few times then the S3, and the S3 really livened up the bike for me. I would definitely try to demo though.

The push shock is great, but I probably wouldn’t buy it at full price. Honestly the enduro is progressive enough to work well with “lesser” coil shocks that cost far less. That being said the push is rad! Still pops well, and the rear traction is insane. The “lockout” mode keeps it climbing really firm without sacrificing traction and small bump sensitivity.
