Speedster Added a comment about press release BOS Suspension Launches BOS Cycling, Introduces 2025 Range

I had/have the BOS fork and shock on my 2016 Roacky Mountain Maiden DH bike. It was a great fork - performance and durability-wise,but once it needed service I was f’d. I spent $100 on shipping to get $35 worth of parts from France once, and the second time I had something go wrong, I couldn’t get any help from them. There wasn’t anybody that was servic8ng them in the States, and try as I might on their French FB page, I couldn’t get any help from them again, so it was just easier to replace it with a Fox...

And that is why I opted for the Norco Optic with full XTR for my short travel bike, which cost less than both of these bikes. Only about 1 kg heavier than them and that's including oneup flat pedals, ARC30 Al wheelset, DD rear w/DH hucknorris insert, EXO+ front w/reg hucknorris insert, oh and a oneup bashguide, although it's only on by the two tabs provided on the optic (still don't understand their logic on that one!). Plus, I like having the aluminum stays for the rock abuse new england trails have to offer. I think a comparison of the...

I know that Downcountry and short travel slack bikes are all the rage these days but let me add my point of view. I've ridden a few of these bikes and they are indeed a lot of fun and feeling light and spirited on climbs is great. I just ran into problems when pointing them downhill. They give you all the confidence and if you forget that you actually don't have that much travel nor proper burly components, the bike gets hammered really fast. Just a few boosts off of small trailside lips with landing cased into gnar and you...

I agree 100% While I don't live near a lift park, and none of my local trails require a DH bike, but my favorite trails to ride are more fun on my DH bike than my enduro bike. I feel like the industry has done such a good job of selling enduro bikes to the DH crowd, they have shot themselves in the foot for DH bike sales.

I think 500 is extremely low, likely 800 bikes for bigger company's maybe, but considering the amount of fresh new bikes I saw last year at Canadian champs and how many bikes whistler eats per year, 500 would only feed half of Canada. Rental fleets alone in BC would take up 200+ I'd estimate.

I think the awnser to that question is yes which breaks my heart that the bike industry has convinced everyone that enduros are just as good! I love my DH bike and I love watching DH racing as it’s the pinnacle of our sport! Every rider needs to try a DH bike at least once, I hope they never die because a DH bike at a park or DH trail is an amazing thing!

This in no way suggests that Norco would be at fault and it's great that yous guys went ahead with a launch video including a reasonable, later delivery date. But I really hope that it works out that way. Is the supply chain back on it's feet enough? I hope so.

glad my project makes you curious =) you mix 2 things… I was rolling on my dh-bike all the time. Doing this, your pedal force needs to be equal at any time, to keep the crank-arm in a horizontal position. So you are not able to shift your position on the bike by putting load on the front or rear pedal….. So from a mechanical point of view, you stand on the bb-axle anyway This brings me even to a big downpoint of the crank-arm-setup. The rear leg is bend all the time… (the maximal force it can resist...

Different disciplines for sure. However, Loris just won the Trans Cascadia in pro with Luca Shaw in third. They both beat last year's winner, Geoff Kabush who got 5th. He is no endurance slouch. DH isn't enduro, but the top level pros are in great condition.

In addition to saying he 'lost fitness' at the DH races and didn't like how little he got to ride, Martin also mentioned that he felt enduro racing made him a better bike rider. I can see how for some the semi-blind, fully-pinned nature of EWS racing might actually translate into a sharpening of handling skills that could be beneficial in DH. Clearly it works for Martin, and I'd love to see both Sam and Richie have a go at some World Cup DH racing again.

Speedster Added a comment about product review Moto

5/31/2018 2:05pm
I've always liked the fact that the original Moto shorts came with hip pads and the Velcro patches to attach them to. I always wear them for DH. Nobody else has the Velcro tabs for the hip pads! I assume that the new ones don't since there is no mention of them. I have resorted to wearing full padded shorts under my other DH shorts, but don't like how hot they are. What does it cost to add a bit of Velcro to production? I would guess that most riders don't have the foam hip pads, but since I'm a...
