Logan should have been the national champ last year, despite Neko having a faster time. One of the reasons the UCI has all the top 20 ranked world cup DH riders race at the same time (protected riders are put in the top 20 if they don't qualify in the top 80)is for the same conditions, in theory. And with this shit show a few months ago they say that different race times don't matter as far as morning and afternoon? Logan won with all the other seniors at the time he needed to. If it wasn't for the KHS, Marzocchi, loose chain and brake lines that need to be cut I'd say it looks pretty good. In all seriousness though, all wheel sizes for MTB should die except for one. If it is 26, then great. If it is 650b, then it probably has some advantages and disadvantages. It should just be one damn size though. Three standards suck. At least 24 inch died off a little while ago. Well, maybe for everyone except for Kidwoo and his Bighit with Monster T's.

Yeah, I'm sure Transition is the first company to optimize carbon. They MUST have put more R&D into it than Trek, Specialized, Santa Cruz and Giant. What a load of BS. In reality it probably works just fine, and lots of riders will say how sick it is over a PBR.

I'd be stoked if Lopes could come on here and comment, I'm curious about the use of the dropper. Were there tech sections where this made up time or was the race just a sprint? I'd imagine anyone (especially Lopes) willing to add about a half a pound of weight to the bike would have it pay off in certain areas of the course.

Tubular makes perfect sense for DH. No thorn flats to really worry about, which is a downfall of tubular tires, no tubeless goop, which is a downfall of regular tubeless. In case nobody noticed, from the second interval to the finish line: Steve Smith went about a half second faster than Minnaar, over a second faster than Gwin, about a second faster than Gee and around .3 faster than Brosnan. He also bested Mick and Graves by around a second each as well. There must have been a skinny in the track.

Women made up less than 9% of the entries, and they were paid 13% of the overall purse. 60% of the women were paid. Only 23% of the men's field was paid. Looking at it by the numbers it was unfair to the men. I don't think anyone would complain if 50 women showed up, they just didn't. That's their choice. Stoked for Jill and Jackie to do well, we just want more competition for them.

Before you start ranting about having people look at numbers, why don't you look at the numbers. The axle to crown on the forks are different on the BLTC and TRC, so that would make the numbers different. 68 with an inch shorter axle to crown fork compared to 68.1 with a longer fork is a big difference. I'm stoked on this, the TRC is slacker (I'd run a 140mm fork on either bike, so it would make the TRC slacker relative to the geometry chart's shorter fork), a little longer in the top tube and longer wheelbase.
