there is plenty of proper journalism on vital. But what i also like about it is their connection with the riders and media and industry and the quick from the horses mouth info as it comes. There is plenty of time and place for a proper indepth expose... but this is just info in from the other side of the world. If you dont like it dont read it. Wait for Bike or Dirt to come out in 2 months time.

This message translated from Svenfricanese. Can you sleep at night now? Obviously it was one of our small crew of guys busting their butts to bring you closer to the action, regardless of whether you're 5 miles away or 5,000. This isn't the New York Times or Fox News, nor do we want it to be. Pink Wolf is on point. Also, it's their, not there, and riders certainly aren't "whinging" about things, bro. TRex Added a comment about press release Australian Gravity Enduro Series announced for 2014 racing season

9/11/2013 9:11am
WTF Australia? Rando, Rennie, Kovarik, Hill. You can bet your ass none of those guys started with Enduro. I was hoping there would be at least a few places that stay away from this small bike crap that is sweeping the world. Nope, even Australia has finally decided to let its talent pool circle the drain of mediocrity. I can't think of a worse way to experience Australia. Go break-neck speeds on a cross country bike downhill, then suffer in humidity (or a wildfire) up hill after hill, possibly get bitten by an eastern brown snake, then most assuredly be...

TRex Added a comment about product review Vault Brendog Edition

5/22/2013 7:08am
I believe the numbers are slightly misleading. The length and width are large, but the edges fall off. The rear portion, which matters to me a lot, is a lot thinner. It is less a case of size than what they do with it in my opinion on this pedal. I'd roll my foot off of the rear of the Vault more than others that are squared on the back instead of tapered down like the Vault. Despite that, the concave shape, quality and feel are what gave it a 4 star rating, which is excellent. It is just a...

TRex Added a comment about feature Meet the Testers from 2013 Vital MTB Test Sessions

4/24/2013 7:40am
Barrel Ride was a little too flat for my tastes, both up and down, but that could have been a strong headwind on lots of the downhill portions. Grafton Mesa was my favorite, with some high speed corners and some technical stuff too, overall a good mix. Guacamole was cool to do, but not a great trail overall. It might be a once a year thing if I lived there. Nephi's Twist was fun with a group, but I wouldn't go to find my limits on my own. Lots of do or don't stuff, which I think is fun. Zen...

bturman Liked a product review 2013 Test Sessions: Rocky Mountain Altitude 790 MSL

2/12/2013 7:58pm
Reviewed by Steve Wentz, Joe Schneider, and Brandon Turman // Photos by Shawn Spomer and Brandon Turman The all-new, all-carbon, 650B wheel equipped 2013 Rocky Mountain Altitude came to life just a few months ago, making it a perfect candidate for Vital MTB's Test Sessions in Southern Utah. This 150mm travel rig is Rocky's flagship trail bike, designed with the goal of getting the job done well regardless of the terrain. From the first minute of the Altitude’s design process, Rocky says there was never any doubt that they would build it around 650B wheels, citing limitations of both 26-inch...

TRex Added a comment about press release USA's 2012 UCI Mountain Bike World Championship Team

8/8/2012 7:02am
He had a valid point.... which was what? Please provide additional information. Maybe links to the races that everyone else on the team has won that had world cup level competition. And for your question, Duncan is the highest ranked US rider on the world cup circuit after the other six choices and Richie Rude, who is going for juniors. It makes sense to choose him based on that and his past experience. Unless you would rather have Cody Warren go, who is ranked 151. He's the next senior in line on world cup rankings.

TRex Added a comment about press release USA's 2012 UCI Mountain Bike World Championship Team

8/7/2012 2:54pm
You idiot, what do you think is going to happen at Worlds? All six other people on the US team are going to win and NOT Duncan? Gwin will probably win. Mitch is amazing but not quite up to winning speed yet, same with Elliot, who has flashes of brilliance but hasn't put it together other than a few times. Strobel can always do well, but has 'only' gotten in the top 15 at world cups a few times. Neko has tons of potential, but same as the other guys, I think he's got a year or two more to...
