The Devinci Django was ridden by the larger testers, the Jeffsy was ridden by the medium guys. Unfortunately, we don't have one rider that can compare both directly. bturman might have a bit more insight.

"lol, warranty the rims." is just not going to cut it. If you pay $8000 for a bike, or $3000, whatever it is, you should expect that bike to work as the company claims it to work. Some people spend a lot of money (relative to income) on their bikes, as their bikes are their escapes from the real world. If you spent a lot of money on a bike, went for a big riding trip with your buddies, and within the first day your new bike is compromised, you wouldn't 'lol, warranty the rims'. You'd be bummed. You'd hesitate...

Sjames88, the Canyon Spectral and the Giant Trance are very similar. Having spent a good amount of time on each, I'd be happy to have either one. They both are on the shorter end of travel, both have 650 wheels, and both have similar geometry. I don't know what the chainstays are on each, but the Spectral felt shorter. The biggest difference in those two bikes is the feel of each, which I believe goes back to the rider that might benefit the most with either. I think the Giant is easier to go fast on initially.
