"Schralp" is the word for the sound and act of hauling ass over pool coping on a skateboard. It's not grinding on top of the coping in a 50-50, but slashing through the side of it. In MTB schralp is a verb and means to rip, shed or tear something up. In this case a berm or corner on a mountain bike trail. This week-end, the Pivot Cycles Demo Tour was in Montclar Bike Park in the south of France. It was also the Supertour Clothing test days. I shot a movie with Thibaut Martin for the first time in 2012 when he was already riding a Pivot Cycles Phoenix (alloy) for Ride inov Team. After a few years away, Thibaut is back on his rig and he even raced at 2 French cup rounds and he ended with 2 top 30. Thibaut has aggressive skills on his bike. He chose to shoot that edit at home in Ardeche, south of France, on a trail packed with rocks. His will was simple: "let's do a rough edit". Tya Surel is only 9 years old and she's impressive on her mountain bike. She started as a BMX racer but she's becoming more and more fond of DH and Enduro MTB. She has already taken part in many races and she often stands on the podiums among boys. Before she turns 10, here is a nice video of her, on a track she chose, the VBC Bikepark where she rides and jumps on the black track. Tya improves fast and she should go far ! This week-end, the X1 Racing Team finished 3rd team of the french national championship. Dylan Levesque who won the race in Valberg in 2019 ended 9th, Lisa Bouladou finished 3rd Junior however she's only Cadtte 1, Julien Piccolo ended 41st, Martin Jouet-Pastre finished 71st and Tom Guillo 7th Junior.
