Hi Vital Forum peoples, This is not Vital's fault what so ever, we have ask them to take it down. The info out was not images of bikes but mock up CAD images which honestly as just shit with loads of incorrect details. These files are only ever intended to go to our dealers (and should never make it beyond this) to help them. Sure, in a perfect world, we wouldn't do ANY first ride reviews. We'd only write about bikes that we tested against the direct competition on tracks that we know well. Since we can't really do that for every single bike launch, a first ride is often the next best thing. It's also good to be able to provide some actual real-world feedback on the day of the launch of a new bike, which is hard to do if you need to get a bike sent out to you first (many brands won't do that with a new bike, as they...

To start with, seeing a bike in person is already infinitely better than copy-pasting a press release when it comes to evaluating the design process and the finished goods. I would argue that even without riding the bike, there are meaningful things to write about after merely a physical inspection. If you then add the opportunity to have in-depth discussions not only with the chief designer but also a rider like Aaron Gwin who was essentially the driving force behind most of the changes made to this particular bike, we benefit even more (both writers and readers). I have the old Flux for about 6 years, and it has been so good I have been thinking about getting another. Now I know that looks aren't everything, but this new one is terrible looking. I hope they have some other options because otherwise I am going to a different company for my next helmet.

Having spent the weekend riding/racing on it, I can say the following: It's around the same on the climbs (which is a good thing), but much stronger on the downs, and accelerates better on the pedals. Not quite as 'poppy' yet easier to throw around, overall more confident of a bike. I got a personal record on every stage I rode, and was headed to my best race result ever before accidentally missing a stage. With more time it'll only be faster and easier to ride.
