I wouldn't take this as cutting fringe employees so much as cutting ineffective marketing strategies. Many of the aforementioned global brand ambassadors didn't have huge followings in already niche segments of the industry (bikepacking for example). Spesh is still certainly flush with cash, I'm sure their just investing it in the kind of marketing that makes existing riders buy their bikes (racing, edits, innovation, etc.). Let’s not forget that the ews was originally supposed to be a uci event. Chris Ball put it all together for the uci who then pulled the rug from under his feet at the last minute. He went ahead with the series anyway and it’s been such a success that a decade later the uci decided to hand him the keys to the entire World Cup series. After watching the Innes Graham RAW, is there any chance he gets more factory support to make a proper run at a full EWS season? Or does he even have the interest in that? All I know is he's one hell of a talent on a bike.

Not sure if this has already been mentioned, but with Jordan Williams leaving Saracen for Specialized, Saracen have reportedly signed young British rider George Madley as his replacement. Harry Molloy and Vero Widmann also rumoured to be leaving the team.
