In honor of the 1000th page, we should vote on the best meme of 2025: 👍🏻 for “Crab” 👎🏻 for “6-7” edit: Carcinization is the antithesis of innovation. Maybe we should keep crab talk on the crab talk forum and keep this thread focused on MTB tech rumors and/or innovation.

why do they need to release something new? geometry is still spot on, the only thing i would change is shock orientation to increase dropper insertion. oh and a motor version of course

I'm not holding my breath. Solid state batteries have been about to enter production since the early 2000's. No joke, we were told to expect them within a year or two. Just like graphene, it's a concept with some grounding in material science, but no effective path to a deliverable. I still have faith in human ingenuity, but ss batteries have stomped on my heart too many times. The number one application for higher density batteries is in things that fly. There's no sign of ss batteries in the field, other than the usual highly suspicious solid state Chinese drone/personal...

is that at cell level or at battery level? and when will that be available outside of a lab? kellys is right now at 267wh/kg at the battery level for their 900wh battery with current battery tech

It's "graphene" all over again 😁 That went from science to marketing real quick, and has never been produced outside a laboratory. Solid state has been just around the corner for over 30 years, seems unlikely to be tomorrow. But someone will attempt to use it in a marketing sense. Semi solid state sounds suspiciously like lithium polymer.
