I was sure she was capable of a top 5 result with the support of Unior. Too bad about the injury in the last season and everything. She couldn't wait to get back to racing :/ I don't follow Monika's situation that much and i wish she gets some proper support given the results she's had.

How many of the women, that are outside your criteria, could be much closer to the top with proper support? And i don't mean factory support, i mean support. Any. I remember how Zarja had it and Monika Hrastnik is probably in a worse spot right now (Zarja was with Unior in the last season). There are tons of smaller...

When you earn 6+ digits a year, 50 USD is a days food for you. And i probably went way too far with 50 USD, domains can sometimes be bought for literally peanuts, people have servers running everywhere, so hosting a site is a 5 minute job, etc. Imagine it like this, doing a gag like that for someone in...

Making up the numbers with a few engineers and based off a few test bikes is not hard. Engineering a frame to work correctly for a company like Merida wouldn't be hard. Then, just to put some gasoline onto a fire, distributing the DH bikes as 'Atherton by Merida' or something like that would give tons of street cred for...

For an experienced web guy this troll would cost about 30 to 50 €. For an experienced web guy, this would be peanuts. And the ensuing fallout in this thread would probably be worth it. FWIW.

Oh, didn't know we are talking about dowhnill bikes, i thought the topic is about bikes that get pedalled on. Which is done sitting in the saddle for ~80 to 90 % of the ride. I agree, the seat tube angle has little to do with 'downhill handling'. But it's stupid to optimise for that when you do it for...

Why move the weight forwards with long chainstays when we can move it forwards with steeper seat tube angles on alrger bikes? And keep the stays reasonably long/short. Same effect (more weight on the front) and a shorter (but still long) bike.

Beat me to it. But yeah, the 36 has too much travel to be possible in a stepcast version i'd say.

My mistake there, they probably don't shell out any bucks directly to benefit the team, but still, compared to motorsports and what they do there, this is effectively a sponsorship if you ask me. While not as desireable for a smaller brand or team, where a budget is constrained and a classical sponsorship involving funds is needed, this way is...

It was done that way, supposedly, yeah, with the whole racing world buying products, no sponsorship deals. When they got into MTB, they quickly found out that that won't fly here so apparently they are sponsoring Specialized (and have an exclusive OEM agreement with them). Probably the same for Brayton. And they get a kick out of development as well...

That makes sense, while moving the weight to the extremes requires more effort and more movement, you can be more precise in general. A very short wheelbase bike will cause you to weight either wheel too much too quickly just by making a small mistake or getting hung up on something.
