Pablo Fiorilli BRS Added a comment about feature Bright Racing's F929 Next Custom Fork Review

Thank you for the comment, very analytical. I congratulate you. A Bright RS has both damping and alignment and telescope guide systems that are very advanced compared to both a current mtb fork and above all compared to the old Marzocchi ones, good forks in that times. But if you don't know a project I realize it's hard to see everything. It's normal. Regarding the stem guide system, it's nothing new for us as I used this technology on Fimoco forks in the DH world championship both in the early 90s and towards the end, also bringing it to xc...

I am not 100% positive but I believe the secondary chamber is designed to operate as a bypass and that bypass air then works as a negative chamber. I didn't have Pablo explain it all to me, this was what I got from his web site.

I was the same way! The negative travel is on every fork, it's something Pablo stands behind as an engineering decision. the fork just holds itself up at all times. It is only really noticeable when coming off a jump or dropping into steep sections. Those times are when the fork just stays tall in the travel and your head angle barely changes at all.

Do you think you can post a short video demoing how the sag works?

Fair. The Optic is a special case it seems. They just got the formula right. It is really fun and can handle anything I can. It is the first Horst-Link bike I have ridden in a long time. To generalize this bike against say a 2016 Stumpjumper would be unfair.

Thanks! and no harm taken. LOL on the Trust, that seemed to be the consensus, it was really a polarized product. 1: I agree with you. This fork does have what I would call sag in it, albeit maybe 10mm at best, but it goes away really quickly with the slightest unweighting of the front end, not like other forks I have used. 2: Good idea. I'll work with my RnD team here at work to see how we can measure that. 3: Also a good idea. I need to get a different fork to put on here to try...

Love seeing these boutique products get some time on them. Also, I applaud your willingness to do a review so don't take my critique for anything more than a random guy on the internet waving his hands in the air. I also hated the Trust Message so maybe that plays into this... 1) In seemingly every application of vehicle suspension sag is a vital part of allowing a wheel (or ski) to track the ground through uneven terrain. I'm tempted to post a video of a trophy truck here to illustrate but I think everyone gets the idea. I see...

Cheers I am actually begging Pablo to make me one to put on my dh lol. I am really curious to see how it would perform against a fox40 back to back. soon enough we will see a bright dual crown❤️

I love it too Thank you for the awesomely unbiased review. We need more of those. I remember I have seen your bike in whistler, I was the one with the red/carbon custom bright on the yeti 160e. you probably noticed that as well lol

I need to get my digital gauge and bring it to work to check but my analog pump is measuring at about 42psi approximately. It is entirely possible @Pablo Fiorilli BRS made the changes since that PB article.

My personal experience as driver and tester: Reset your brain and think with open mind. It's a fork that change the behaviour of the bike. I know that the "zero sag" idea it's difficult to accept in the moment. But trust me that it really is. The lowering of the fork is imperceptible and the response to the stresses of the ground are managed in an exceptional way in order to have maximum response and the possibility of copying the ground on small bumps at high speeds, in order to keep the structure stable. For the setting, maximum trust is...

So "no sag" is really "a little sag with little damping". 10-15mm sag versus 20-40mm. If you say a normal 180 fork is "only 150", then your 148 is "only 135" in the same way. "our systems are able to copy heavily bumpy terrain much better than a fork with abundant static sag." You forgot the part about "abundant static sag AND a slower damper". It's also heavily dependent on the relationship between bump amplitude and frequency. Limited negative travel is going also going to limit performance as the amplitude increases, where as the frequency response can be tuned for...

dear dirty booger, Thanks for the question.. This article was done, to my pleasure, by someone (@one ghost) who has been using the fork for a long time and has been attentive to our set up information (ultimately not that complicated, the Bright RS is a very adaptable to the end) and was very open and intrigued from the start. If a company that spends so much money on design and research gives you directions and tells you that you can't use a fork like this as you would use a cheap production one, if a company like this recommends...

sag / working frequency / amplitude correct, you said everything very rightly. I will answer you very briefly: the extremely light unsprung masses (on a Bright RS, shaft + Foot are so light) and the working capacity of the ACAD damper are able to restore frequency and amplitude in a way that is difficult to see on a traditional fork but above all on a fork with classic damper. Bushings: yes you said well and you must also consider that in the point where they are closest, for the F929, their distance is as much and sometimes more than a...
