Great race, I loved it! Track turned out to be pretty good. I feel some top riders ran cut spikes when it was already too dry and they paid the price. Gwin in the booth was amazing, insightful and well spoken, and aware of what happened in practice and at previous events, unlike the other two who clearly don't study/prepare...

Damn Gwin is a natural in the commentary boot. So well spoken and does not pretend to be talking to casual viewers.

Track didn't even look that bad for 90% of its length.

One thing to also keep in mind is that when it's so slippery, medical assistance to injured riders can be affected, and that usually plays a major role in cancelling a race. Not saying this was the reason.

Again just from IG, there seem to be mixed feelings about the cancellation and maybe the track wasn't so bad... I wonder why they did not go for the previous plan of having all races on Sunday. We need more transparency with all these schedule changes. Maybe they should just have a set contingency plan.

Junior race is cancelled, quali results stand as final (as per The Union's IG). Just saw few stories and the track looked unrideable due to the mud. Not sure if they cancelled it because of that or because of weather.

BTW, Hoffman messed up the last jump pretty bad, so she would have definitely been first in qualy.

Looks like the track (DH) has been taped very wide, and it's very steep. It will also cut in a lot as there are lots of fresh sections. It looks nothing like the previews However if there is a track you don't want to ride in the wet it might be this one 😆. Keen to see the racing.

This is pretty cool! Maybe numbers of junior who would have placed top 20 or top 30 would be a good measure of how spread apart the juniors are/were in the past as well. Can you add junior women too?

I have to say I appreciate the organizers revising the schedule in hope of having a (safe) race. Any idea on how they would score points? Or will they just assign points 1st to 30th?

Just for reference, few years back in 2016/2017 the Italian national cup had great attendance: more than 300 riders each race, and even more than that at the beginnning of the season, and the entry fee was 50 euros. The level was high, but a step below some other series, with only a few Italian riders able to qualify at...

French cup costs around 40 euro, and it's probably the best feeder series (with the US having made strides and being close as far as bringing up new talent) with large attendance every race. I am not saying it's easy to host a race, but 165 dollars for an entry fee feels absurd and counterproductive.
