Great post OP, a few years ago I came down hard on a knee and the POC pad I had did not do nearly enough to prevent an injury. Rapha for me has worked the best out of Leatt airflex, POC vpd, TLD raid, and some 7idp and evoc pairs I bought for my son. We also pedal so comfort...

stoked you found some value in that knee pad video! 😀 Out of all the recent stuff I've tested, for pads to wear under pants for DH, the Arcon LT has to be right up there. Level 2 protection and it subjectively feels like it really wraps and holds the knee. Could be the sizing at play but also the choice of fabrics and the construction. I've also been super impressed with the DHaRCO stuff, I didn't test the DH version they make but if it's like a beefed up version of their Gravity pad (that I did test), I'd...

Thanks Mike. That's a good camp to be in! It is compatible with asym rims. Since the insert lives within the lower section of the tire, it doesn't interface with the rim channel at all so it will work fine.

Much respect Ryan, this was a great intro to Rim Saver development. I'm in the strong carbon + burly casing camp but wouldn't mind the ability to run lower pressures and still have peace of mind with Rim Saver in place. Is it compatible with asymmetrically offset rim beds?

I’m 5’8” and have long legs and a short torso. A medium size bike fits me perfect, but I need a pretty high seat height. I have a 200mm dropper on my Jekyll, which is still not fully inserted into the frame, but drops low enough for my liking. My hardtail, on the other hand, has a 150mm dropper only because it’s at its max insertion depth. For me, I’ll take the max drop length possible for it to sit flush in the frame and give me the most clearance possible. There are plenty of times when I only drop...

Can confirm, 155 is where it's at. Currently on a 32T and no penalties compared to the outgoing 170 x 30 setup. I increased the dropper from 180 to 210 as well as a few mils of stack height, and what a difference descending! All the observations are correct but one additional thing that I've noticed since moving to 155s is elimination of rear tire buzz events. There's just so much more room to move around the frame.
