Since my V1 Senti, Ive bounced around to a few different bikes. Then came back to the V2 which has been my primariy bike the past 4 years. many many park days, my main pedal bike and the awesomeness just does not stop. I absolutely love the V2. V3 looks to have some nice refinements to make it even (a little) better. The Sentinel is still a bit more descent hungry than the Stumpjumper 15. It just rides with more authority and isn't as light on its feet as the Stumpy when it comes to moving the bike around. Not to say you can't get jiggy on the Sentinel. I would just pick it over the Stumpy if I was heading to a bike park or going shuttling since it felt more composed in the rough stuff. Climbing abilities are really similar. I rode the Stumpy with an Eliminator/Bucher GridTrail casing tire combo, and the Sentinel with a High Roller 3/Assegai DH...

This sounds cheezy so bear with me but I just wanted to say thank you for the great conversations here so far. I’ve already learned some new things and it’s got me pumped. If even one person learns something new from this, then this whole article was worth the effort. Thanks Jason for mentioning the new paint😆 Have to agree that TR answered many V2 riders' wish lists. I have STFU on my V2 to address the thin chain stay protection, FoxFolk guard for the pivot, shock with a spherical bearing to compensate for the split link, CC link for increasing travel and bottom out resistance, ENDH stem for more stack, 155 cranks for clearance, and like 4 cable clips to control the rattling cables. The only things I feel the V2 can't really compensate for are the lower shock mount cavity, MX chip and BOOM box. Oh, and maybe...

I am somewhat in the middle and chose to size down with my V2 since it's a very stable descending platform and I enjoy my airtime.

As an owner of a V2 Sentinel and Spire, they have become my favorite riding frames. Their geometry is just dialed, plenty of anti squat, plenty of climbing traction. And when you point them down, super stable at speed, not twitchy.

You know, i just realized something I do NOT like about the V3, no longer externally routed rear brake. Huge selling point for me....hmmmmm
