mbl77 Added a reply to Do you ride with a pack?

Extra stuff i carry in my big pack is a spoke key, a couple of master links, a few separate allen keys, zipties, tyre plug, CO2, a few sheets of toilet paper for outdoor "emergencies" and emergency blanket. And if its a multi-day epic, i'll add in a couple of spare spokes, a separate chain tool and a shock pump.

Interesting... I have 2 bikes. One is a G2 DH bike with the Alfine hub as a gearbox. The other a 2x9 AM style bike. Am bike is way better suited to uphill and techy maneuvers, yet, I have ridden both on the same trails and I can get up and over more technical uphill parts on the DH bike due to the gearbox and the fact it seems to be transferring power better than my regular setup. I am not arguing your point of efficiency, this is most likely true, but what I am saying is that in the...

I ditched waterbottles about 15 years ago, after losing a few during races. I don't even have a bottle cage on my current bike, despite there being space for it. I have 3 different size packs depending on how long I'm going out for. At a minimum there is water, a multitool and a pump. The big pack also has...

I'm guessing the 5 was chosen for versatility? Not that the 6 isn't versatile, I'm thinking that the 6 might be more "Enduro Specific" (shudder shudder)

Yes. It goes something like this: "We like to ride our bikes. Some money might be nice. #ohwell."

First, NOT going to complain about word count. Nice to read some thought out, articulate expression instead of a 250 word caption. Thank you. As for wants - better bikes for less money? How about maybe just the same bikes for less money? Bikes are pretty fancy nowadays, and besides wheel size and carbon, not changing a whole lot. I don't want more, I just want normal at a reasonable price. More trails would be nice, but there's many caveats in there... More races? No. Enduro and Urban DH has about sewn that up. RedBull is taking care of the...

As a member of the "core audience" I was wondering why the commentary was so subdued for the 2014 season. This post answer that! And, I for one, do not like it! I do not need know stats/info about that riders and their team. I need to be reminder to look at the time and to reflect on the size of Danny Hart's balls. Stoked that Robs got a regular gig though.
