Coil life is the real deal (for rear shocks at least) - just need more short-stroke coil options for the newer-gem sub-140mm trail bikes.

Its true! Sure coil isn't quiet as light but the feel is real. What's lightweight mean when the level of control isn't there. This is offroad riding not gravel grinding.

MRP is a small company. The vast majority of bike riders are between 125-250lbs. For those outside this range, the air fork is still an option. This was always one of the big problems with coil. A company can only justify making so many coils from a cost perspective (EG, there would literally be 10-20 sales of the XXFirm or XXsoft, wouldn't even make up for the cost to get them spun) The other problem with coil is for those who fall in between a weight. Now we just need 20 mm axle and everything is perfect. Might have to get one of these and those new Spank rims for my AM bike.

Because you have 2 short bolts that are under torsional load when taking hits, but unlike a through axle it's not supported at both ends to counteract the torque. This means that unless they have substantial support and a tight fit on the rocker, it will be subjected to a lot of stress that could lead to the holes being worn out or developing stress cracks in the rocker and/or mount on the shock.

Why did they go for trunnion? That's a real reliability and compatibility concern to me, and I really wanted that Sentinel

I need those tires, Michelin casings are just too damn good, and now they seem to have a good allround tread pattern to go with it.

I weigh 75 kg in full gear, and I have to run 28 psi in the rear to not smash my rim to tiny carbon pieces (30 mm internal), even at that pressure I smack the rim quite often, and this is on reinforced tires, not some weight weenie floppy things like Ardents. If you can run low pressures like that on a thin casing, then you either have no rocks, or you don't ride especially hard.
