It was last spring, in the beginning of this pandemic that has turned our lives upside down, when we were having heated debates in the Technical Rumours topic regarding suspension, forks, dual crowns, right-side-ups, upside-downs, axle diameters, etc., when I mentioned much of it could be checked using finite element simulation. It was a great project to get into FEA and to have a cool result, but, as is usual for a master procrastinator without a deadline, it took a while to get it done. But get it done I did! So, in this post I will present the results...

YETI CYCLES ADDS REED BOGGS TO ATHLETE ROSTER Yeti Cycles launched their big travel bike, the SB165, a few months back and now have added big mountain freerider, Reed Boggs, to their athlete roster. Not sure if this is completely team rumors or not, but I saw this cannondale prototype “enduro” bike at mountain creek bike park’s closing day. Looks like it’s based on the DH bike being tested last season. It’s got 29” wheels, 160-170mm front travel with looks about the same rear travel. The guy riding it was about 6’2” give or take. The rear is LOOOONNGGG and the headtube was really slack. 63 ish degree range? At first I thought it was just the proto DH bike but it didn’t have a dual crown fork, and it has water bottle...
