The bike was offered in 29/29 alongside 27.5/27.5, I think making a mullet out of a 27.5 frame would not be a huge deal, I recall seeing an Aurum HSP on here that had been mulleted and they started with the 27.5 frame. Cascade Components used to make a DHX2 eyelet which might have worked on the 29er frame, I think they've discontinued it but I never measured to see if it would fit. Personally I'd be picking up the 27.5 if I wanted to do the project.

 

PS - I am running one of your drop best clamps on my older Instinct and it's brilliant!

I ran a 29 hsp mullet and had an athlete I worked with run a 27.5 hsp mullet. 

The 27.5 had a super high bb, and was insanely slack (61.5). It looked weird to see them ride it. 

The 29 set up with an offset bushing in the lower shock eyelet and a 27.5x2.5 made it so the bike was easily rideable with the head angle only being .5 slacker and a touch lower bb. This helped the bike with all turn shapes and was a significant improvement.

Great info. Funny, I already find the BB dynamically rides lower in comparison to my Claymore that I wouldn't be that interested in lowering even further on the trails I enjoy. That said, offset bushings are cheap enough it would be fun to try!
