Somewhere in the last 20 years readers here lost track of the sport's trajectory. We are firmly in upper-middle class sporting territory. Being a young sport ( Performance MTB ) many of us came from various socioeconomic backgrounds to make it happen in the 90s but now that landscape is quite different. I would argue we almost surpassed skiing as the well-to-do hobby for people with money to spend.

I had a go at Conti kryptotal F in super soft DH My other go to are Pirelli scorpion enduro race M and assegai MaxxGrip, exo+ or DD I wasn’t as thrilled on the kryptotal as the hype had me thinking I would be. Chemical grip is some of the best but the square profile was just a bit too...

Great review! Re the BB link, @metadave is on the money re early batch had grease instead of loctite on the link. I used blue Loctite on mine when assembling it and have got a solid amount of riding over 6 weeks or so now with zero issues. For anyone interested, i'm on a medium altitude with the shorter chainstay in steep, -5mm headset and mulltet. Whilst it's not as playful as the outgoing altitude, it is still pretty snappy. The bike it reminds me of most is the specialized enduro, however Id say the altitude has the edge climbing...

I’ve gone to hellion elites from impact pro. Hellion elites are more comfortable and provide more grip. Ride concepts are rad.
