FAIRbicycle Added a comment about bike check Trek Pro Issue DH 1998

That is what Trek later did, there are pictures floating around... like in this article😉 Definetly the king of frame storage, could have cast the led right into the BB area, tough it didn't need it, since for sure it was around 22kg without any led😀

Agreed (for sure, brutal timing), but it's cool to see that Formula ditched the coil negative spring that's been plaguing their reviews for a while, and also did it in a unique way with their concentric bypass valve. If it works consistently and allows them to run a looser seal that has less drag, that's a win.

Ryan Burney Liked a forum topic What I Learned Starting a Tire Insert Company

Hey, I’m Ryan Burney. I’ve been engineering bikes for 8 years, and this is a breakdown of what I’ve learned starting my own small business, Rim Saver. In this post, I’m sharing everything I’ve learned while launching a product business in the bike world. What worked, what didn’t, and what I’d do differently. If it helps even one person take the leap or avoid a mistake, it’ll be worth it. Background I made the first version of Rim Saver in college. The idea started out as a beadlock concept, then evolved into a beadlock with rim protection, then just rim...

This bike is so sick! I love it! Clean, burly, and down for the obvious business.

What's extra sick about that Andorra video is that these guys are fierce competitors...but they have no issue riding together, pushing each other on, and in doing so, potentially "giving up" some of their own advantage. I realize it's not that cut and dry, and that they are still just cruising here, but regardless...there are not that many elite level sports where you'd see this. Mountain biking rules.

FAIRbicycle Added a comment about press release Fair Bicycles Introduces Drop Best AXS

10/4/2024 12:33pm
Thanks for the comment and your approach, which is totally what DROP BEST is meant for .) Regarding the wear/post holding up: One would think so when looking at the product. But throughout the development and through the years we sell DROP BEST in different versions (launched 2021), we learned that it isn't the case. Also we do independent lab testing ( published here) way above the ISO MTB standards and we have never had a post fail. The only fail we have ever had (our testing and customer feedback) was under our own crash testing/simulations, and that was a...

FAIRbicycle Added a comment about press release FAIR Bicycle Launches the Drop Best UC

Made for ROBOTs We know it's niche, but we don't want to make *standard* products, doesn't make sense with our fair and eco approach, which always means higher cost. Yeah, we are really stoked it came out so versatile, you can basically keep this in your drawer and when you need it, you have it there, ready to go onto almost any bike/post. It's actually interesting, we learned that quite some racers and manufacturers used one to test positions or to created geo mules while dev. a new bike...

FAIRbicycle Added a comment about press release Seat Angle Got You Down? Never Fear, DROP BEST is Here (for Reverb)

That's correct, the leverage is quite high. But this has been tested both in the lab, at one of Germany's leading test labs in a worst case scenario, offset to the front and load applied on a point way forward on the saddle. It passed even after the full fatigue test done before. Also, we have cased hard, in the real world, many, many times, wearing full lower protection. Landing on the saddle nose. With all kinds of saddle rails, steel, ti, carbon...We haven't broken a saddle or post yet. Of course something is going to happen, it's called mountainbiking...
