Coming from a couple of years on a Zerode Taniwha I'm sold on the concept of Pinion gearboxes in aggressive trail bikes. The Taniwha ate up the biggest terrain I could throw at it and I'm looking forward to throwing more of the same at it's big brother - the Katipo. One ride in and it feels great - happy days!

Quick question: can you appreciate the difference with the Hydra hub compared to what you had before while using the Pinion?

I have Industry Nine Torch hubs and am thinking of getting Hydra to help with engagement. Also have a Pinion gearbox.

Hey mate, I have run hope pro 2 Evo and zerode hubs which are both reasonably high engagement but nothing crazy like the Hydra and to be honest I can't notice a huge difference. They sound really nice though, bit like a whole bunch of bees following you.
