Don't know the guy, or maybe I know him just as well as anybody else here - who doesn't really know him. From what I've seen, he's talented, has guts, passion and was invited to Rampage. I don't think anyone else commenting here was invited? His resignation is more a reflection on everyone else, rather than him. I think it took more courage to make the wise decision. Yes, too bad he came all that way and backed out. Too bad for who though? Maybe people just assume how "easy" Rampage and big mountain is. My opinion is that its...

Similar? Sure, cannot argue that. But I don't see that as a detriment or bad thing. For instance, the Bottlerocket has many "cousins", as does (okay - DID) the Kona Stinky, The Santa Cruz Single pivots, and now, just about every multi-link bike out there.

funny, I've been reading some comments on mtbr abut how there's not enough climbing and too much dh in American enduros (BME being the main "offender"). Personally, I dig the BME courses...

I'm digging the fork, its quite tunable and pretty plush. Its laterally stiff, but there is a little play with the bushings, nothing bad but thought I'd mention it. I think the newer models have updated bushings. Eats small/medium bumps very good. It will bottom out on the big hits (drops over 4ft with harsh - not flat bottom - landings) but I don't take it there that often, and I could probably tune it to take that too. Took a bit to get it set up - was sticky at first, but adjusting air pressure did the trick. Travel...

Awesome bike. Two questions - how is that fork? I've been looking to upgrading to it on my Trance 29er but I can't find any reviews (that's the 140-110 travel one?). Also, did you measure the head angle or just calculate it?

I liked how some of the course was actually on a public bike path. And how even the race winner bypassed the huck to flat. A lip to stair tranny is one thing, but huck to fat? So nineties.

That's a savings of $450 over the $1450 XX1 group. Still not cheap by any means, but better.
