GetSoMesy Added a reply to Why are there still no 200mm+ Enduro bikes?
2/26/2020 9:40am I'm riding a 2017 Orange 324 with 200 mm rear travel set up as a AM/FR/EN/DH bike (or mountain bike); it also has a 212mm Vecnum Nivo Dropper, 32:9-46t cassette on 150mm hub. I have had it set up with 27.5 front and rear with a Fox 40, but it was a bit heavy for wheel lifts, and the front...

2/26/2020 9:10am The guy who designs/machines Cascade Components links has his Nomad at 190mm rear (DHX2 coil) with a full 200mm Boxxer WC up front. He pedals it everywhere.

2/4/2020 12:11pm the chainstays seem like a good length. its nice that at least a couple companies are bucking the short chainstay is the only option trend. I would like to know what size this bike is, how tall you are, and how you feel about how it corners.

9/25/2019 4:03pm I'd argue Vital is skewed more toward the "lets get to the top" mentality. Nobody is here really worrying about their strava times to the top, and most are willing to sacrifice a bit for the fun part. That said, nothing I'm suggesting with respect to rear center would make the bike worse going uphill. I actually find a longer rear center to climb better, as the front end will stay planted more easily. Moreover, a longer rear center doesn't by itself have anything to do with rear center. You can (and should) have both, a steepish STA and a...

9/25/2019 4:02pm Top tube is one of those "who cares" measurements. Again, when you are standing up you feel the distance between the BB and the handlebars. The rest really doesn't matter. EDIT: To add, a steeper STA will actually make for a shorter top tube length, should you care.

Seriously, if you get into the data, you'll see fork offset helps the front/rear bias, but nothing helps as much as increasing your rear center as your front center grows. I believe this so whole heartedly, I will be making my own seatstay for my Sentinel this year - that creates a (GASP) 18" long CS length.

9/8/2019 9:38pm At least some company is doing bikes with longer chainstays and uninterupted seat tubes. My current bike has 459 chainstays and 395 reach 27.5/29 wheels, and there is not too much weight on the front wheel. I think 469 chainstays paired with 64ha and 435 reach for a medium would be pretty ideal. I think it is silly of you to talk so surely that this will be too much weight on front wheel, when youve never even ridden such a bike. Based on all your comments i doesnt seem like you have a good understanding of how bike weight...

9/8/2019 9:31pm well in that „internet was wrong, short chainstays suck“ thread you did some math and stated short chainstays make a rider have to weigh the front. i dont see how that is so different to my post. on a yeti sb150 size XL the FC/CS ratio exeeds 1.9 and makes you have to weigh the front more than necessary... in my opinion. just saying... sorry i hope that doesnt break your internet

9/8/2019 9:30pm as a tallish person i would actually like to see more brands extending their chainstays. no matter how many pushups you can do - your legs will always be stronger than your arms and can take quite a bit more beating. side benefit would be less shaky sight.

6/25/2019 3:18pm Durr! But the same load and failure test could be applied and would be a totoally relatable comparison. Foam is failed and downgraded if its compressed badly or split, procore is failed if tube deflated, pinched or casing breaks/cuts. Either is degraded if it fails to protect rim or tire. Both can be weighed comparitively.

6/25/2019 3:11pm You cant compare this to changing a dirtbike tire, its apples to oranges. Realisticly and relative to changing bicycle tires including tubes, all foam inserts and Procore, Cushcore is a most difficult and real pain by all honest accounts.

6/25/2019 1:27pm Procore is the OG tire insert, for the same use, same benifits, that can be tested the exact same way; so i’m not sure why your making excuses for it’s exclusion from the test!

6/25/2019 11:40am It’s a real shame that they did not test schwalbe procore. You cant claim to be the champion if you haven’t defeated the best!
