DubC Added a comment about feature What's In / What's Out - Mountain Biking, 2018
1/2/2018 11:44am NICA (for the parents) - We heard one story of a large team that had as many coaches as riders - aka 20 dudes telling their bosses, "sorry, I have to bone out early today because I have to coach my kid's mountain biking team." ....more like "I get discounts for bikes from all those brands if I just say Im a coach?"

DubC Added a reply to Have You Gone from 27.5 to 29er But Then Back to 27.5?
12/13/2017 4:00pm Common guys - everyone knows....once you go black, ya don't go back!
DubC Added a reply to 2017 Red Bull Rampage Line Building and Scoping
10/31/2017 9:45am Most of the sentiment I have seen was more so that he got massively underscored - not necessarily that he should have won. I would have a pretty hard time arguing with that and it was not the first fishy score IMO. The judges clearly have gobs of street cred, but they are still people. People make mistakes sometimes. Especially...
DubC Added a reply to Does the New UCI President Really Care About MTB?
9/21/2017 1:13pm Seems pretty clear that MTB and Road need separate governing bodies. Scopes, consumer base and event demands for each are so different. Anyone who acts surprised that the new UCI Pres could give a flying funk about MTB clearly has not been paying any attn to the past UCI appointees. Yawn. Come on Vital....you are better than a clickbait headline...
DubC Added a comment about feature Transition Patrol vs. Patrol - See How the 2018 Compares
8/25/2017 9:54am Transition is absolutely killing it right now from a product and branding (and beer drinking) standpoint. Pretty hard to criticize nearly any of those geo or spec details. Well done fellas.

DubC Added a comment about news story RESULTS: Qualifying at the 2017 Andorra World Cup DH
6/30/2017 11:04am Spomer, I would love to see some actual statistical analysis of the the big wheelers and their placing this year. Any chance you guys could make that happen with Mark Shilton of Geek Stats? It would be super interesting to see. Even with the track changes it seems like you could analyze specific sections of track that were running close to the same times as past seasons and then compare the guys times who switch to the big wheelers? Honestly, Hart's switch back even though he said additional testing showed that 29ers were .5 seconds faster for them is a...

DubC Added a reply to Should There Be a 29er DH Class and 27.5 DH Class at World Cups?
6/12/2017 11:02am This "looks lame" thing is such BS IMO....and slippery slope. Should riders still be on V-brakes..er... canti's....er...drum brakes? Ft sus only ...er fully ridgid? That would look way more loose. What about modern geo? Longer front centers create way more stability. Should that be banned because it makes riders look more in control? Maybe instead of 29 and 27.5, there...
sspomer Liked a comment about Feature Vital MTB's The Inside Line Podcast Episode 12 - Chris Hilton, Product Manager for MTB Drivetrain at SRAM
6/9/2017 10:35am no worries. b/c these are face-to-face, we're limited to who we can interview. we've talked about a non-face-to-face format but the audio quality and the conversation quality is just different when you're not sitting together. i'm hoping at crankworx this summer we can diversify the line-up a little bit.

6/7/2017 1:58pm Loving the podcasts guys! Listened to every one so far. This is the 3rd sram kool-aid pusher you guys have had on now. How about spreading the love a bit? Tons of other interesting personalities in the industry that don't actually work at sram. It would also be cool to get some international guys in the mix! Thanks and keep up the good work!

DubC Added a reply to All Things Fort William World Cup 2017
5/31/2017 2:21pm Can someone address 27.5 vs 29 wheel aerodynamics and drag when attempting to cut thru a midge swarm? Seems like smaller wheels will win out? Keep your chin's up boys... ;-)

5/26/2017 2:44pm All this hype and you need an expensive tap and likely a voided fork warranty to even use it. Annddd if your HS comes loose on a ride... This is why baby jesus invented POCKETS.

5/12/2017 2:31pm Sometimes this industry just can't help itself - DH Bike sales (and the industry as a whole) are already suffering. After the race this weekend or Ft. Bill, when 29ers leave 650b in the dust....no one in their right mind will be plunking down 4k-9k for a 650b DH bike that will lose over 1/2 it's value as soon as...
DubC Added a comment about video What's the World Champ Think? Danny Hart on 29ers in DH Racing
5/5/2017 11:00pm
True dat Spomer. Also there is a lot of talk about tall guy vs short guy, straight track vs tech track, fun vs speed....which is all good and dandy, but what about some actual scientific analysis of the physics of 27.5 vs 29? There must be some boss nerd mtbers out there that could enlighten us all with some analysis? As a side note, how the hell is there minimal discussion about Fayolle rocking a remote lockout rear shock?!?! Particularly on a track like Lourdes where there seems to be limited opportunity for boost mode....but come Ft. Bill, Cairns, ect....that...
