No bones about it, this is motorized by most definitions and technically not allowed on most trails and may exacerbate access issues. That said, WHY? In Europe these aren't defined as mopeds! They are 'Pedalecs' and can be used anywhere you can use a bike. Pedal assistance only works up to 15mph, after that it you're pedalling by yourself. Which is fine, especially downhill, just like a normal bike! I've been using an eMTB for 6 months now and I've ridden more miles than I had in the last 3 years. Further, higher and harder. Brayton has always been a gnarly rider to watch. Man do I wish the WC this weekend was at Schladming instead. That is a real dh track. Is it just me or does it seems like the WC tracks are getting open, smoother, and more pedally compared to the classic monsters that Sam raised the bar on. (I know there are exceptions, but overall...)
