I can't believe they are complaining about the stage? Its the same for everyone and if you put in the hard work in the offseason you should be loving it. Graves would be grinning ear to ear right now. racing is racing it doesn't matter if the course sucks you need to show up and try your best. The only time you should bring that up is when the course is clearly dangerous due to lack of foresight from organizers otherwise you have pedals and a chain for a reason.....

i remember when i was hoping to buy a trek 8000. didn't have enough money at the time, but looking at it now makes me nostalgic for high-posting steep singletrack on my aluminum 26" hardtail... good times. after three years with a dropper post, i sometimes wonder what would happen if i tried to go back.

OneUp just released a 45t cog for Shimano cassettes. For the most part, I think, 'Why not?' If somebody wants to spend the cash to install a chainring-sized cog, and that helps them have fun on a bike, who am I to judge? On the other hand... Does anybody else feel like 45t is approaching ridiculous? Maybe I'm just a...

"...it's obvious people are hooked on the simplicity and clean look of 1X systems, so making them more accommodating of a larger range of riders (fit or otherwise) is clearly a priority for all the brands." SRAM deserves credit for their marketing department. They managed to popularize the 1x drivetrain by packaging it all into a unified, branded groupset which...
If you're still struggling to climb with a 40t or 42t, get a damn 2x, you chain slapping hipster

I wonder if the patent covers "extreme flex and sub standard shifting" ?

is there some type of boy/girl scout merit badge being offered nowadays in the MTB world for riders who are "strong" enough to run a single ring or something??? JUST USE A 2X SYSTEM.

By the time you get these lard-ass cassettes bolted up and then you realize that your barely-worn single ring WILL need a chainguide in order to pound rock gardens with any haste without tossing a chain you will have saved no grams over a front derailleur and a wider gear range... Lets just go back to 2x9 and be done with it...lighter, smaller cassettes. 11-32 cassette with 24, 36 chainrings or a 22 granny to climb any steep tech or pedal any DH. Why are we going back to making chainrings and cassettes so large? Anyone remember the "Hyperdrive-C" revolution...
