I think the proper thing to do in this instance, is to put Austin Dooley back on the team. This isn’t going to be Gwin’s year; do the right thing, and remove yourself from the team. Come back healthy next year, and show us what you got.

that's up to pivot to start their models at 6k and you don't have to like that. the $6k bikes from gt and pivot are of similar value, however, even though a cheaper option is not offered by pivot. SLX performs fantastically. fox performance and PE suspension is solid, too. the pivot seems to have nicer wheels than the GT. pivots are full carbon frames, gt has alloy rear ends (which helps offset some of the the tax of pivot's X01 price at $700 more, which i agree, is tough to swallow). it all evens out IMO which is why...

"Integrated Storage" aside, it looks like a phenomenal bike at great price points. Kudos to GT for having their highest-end model top out at 6k.

Hey guys, just wanted to jump on here and say thank you to all who is supporting me throughout this situation! It means a lot to have you guys backing me through it. Gutted for Austin Dooley, what a complete cluster. The strange thing is, I assumed all athletes know they have to petition for spots if not automatic qualifiers (and automatic qualifiers I think is some heavy criteria? National Champ, or podium at a world cup?).....regardless, this whole situation sucks and maybe USAC can finally hire someone full time to focus on DH management (I know, a pipe dream).
