The past two years has seen Yeti steadily expand its Sixfinity suspension platform to more models. We figured this new era of bikes was worthy of discussion, so we’ve created this forum for riders to compile questions, get answers, provide setup tips, and resolve issues.

Below is an overview of the Sixfinity design, plus details, assets, and Vital's coverage of each bike. 

Sixfinity Explained

Yeti debuted Sixfinity back in 2021 with their first-ever e-bike, the 160e. However, development began as far back as 2016, with 27.5-inch alloy mules built around the SB66 and SB95. These proof-of-concept bikes led Yeti to cut proto carbon molds in 2019 to begin testing frame stiffness and strength.

The move from Switch Infinity to Sixfinity was driven by the ability to package the linkage around e-bike motors, reduced maintenance/complexity, and heightened control of the kinematics. As the name suggests, Sixfinity is a six-bar linkage layout that allows for independent tuning of anti-squat, anti-rise, and leverage rate.

It features a lower ‘Switch Link’ that changes directions as the bike moves through its travel. It first moves up, and anti-squat remains high to deliver a solid pedaling platform. Then it reaches an inflection point and begins to move down, and anti-squat drops off to keep the suspension active deeper in the travel.

Yeti has worked to tailor the acceleration and deceleration characteristics of each bike’s kinematics to match how they’re ridden. The e-bike models have lower anti-squat values to maintain traction when climbing with e-assistance, and higher anti-rise values to help minimize forward pitch under braking. The analog models have higher anti-squat values to improve pedaling efficiency and lower anti-rise values to balance geometry preservation with suspension movement under braking.

Sixfinity also allows for unique kinematic tuning for each frame size, and the triangular design evenly distributes loads across bearings for better durability, making for a more torsionally stiff frame. 

Each model features flip chips at the lower shock mount to adjust the leverage rate progression. The shape of the leverage curve is linear on all bikes to provide predictable performance. It also makes it easier for Yeti to tune shocks since the leverage rate is consistent throughout travel.

MT Overview

Landing in the 'ride-everything' trail category, the MT is a 140mm travel trail bike that spreads its abilities wide. Unlike the other Sixfinity bikes, the MT only accommodates a 29-inch rear wheel. It builds on Yeti’s best-selling SB130 and SB140 models, but receives a slightly more aggressive geometry package to up its stability descending.

The LT was the first non-e-bike to rock Sixfinity. It was also the first Yeti with in-frame storage and a chainstay length adjustment. A true enduro race bike with an affinity for balanced stability in the most critical moments, its low-ish weight and climbing efficiency make it just as enjoyable to grind uphill on.

The LTe came out mid-2025 and was Yeti's first lightweight, mid-power e-bike. Powered by TQ HPR 60 motor and a 580 Wh battery, its manageable weight (45 lb | 20.4 kg) and aggressive trail geometry position it as a epic ride-everything weapon with enough e-assitance to take the edge off climbs, or tackle big adventures.

LTe Overview

The LTe is Yeti's longest travel, full-power e-bike that replaced their inaugural 160e model in 2025. It's an enduro race bike designed for hard charging, and is powered by Bosch's Performance Line CX or CX Race motor paired with a 800 Wh battery.

Great to see they finally got rid of the Switch Infinity BS. It was utter rubbish in the UK mud.

I know this is a setup discussion thread, but did want to chime in on something I find interesting. It seems like everyone of the press release images has like 25mm or more of headset spacers under the stem. If that is how you want to present the bike, and hint that it's where the bars should be, then maybe just add +10 or so to your stack height. I get that people look at reach and ignore stack, but lets be honest. a 480 bike with 25mm of spacers is a very similar if not identical to a 470ish bike with 5mm under the stem. 

Let's stop fixing fit with steer tube lengths.

The SixFinity mules from 2016 and 2019 are super cool to see. That's a looooooong time ago, and I didn't realize they've been kicking this idea around for that long.

Last spring I hopped on an MTe mule. For me and how I ride these days it was spot on. The power feels more natural than other e-bikes. Felt like I had power for days rather than riding something that felt like it had a throttle. The reduced weight kept it feeling like an analog bike when descending or maneuvering on trail. The rear end tracks crazy well. Mid way through the first test ride I knew I was getting one. I got mine last summer and it has been an awesome bike for me. I ride it more than all my other bikes combined.

I am very tempted by the new analog LT/MT to get something to compliment my MTe. 

If we are talking Sixfinity questions... is the DH bike going to come to production?

Did Yeti provide any user setup guidance in relation to the 3 leverage rates? It's great to have options, but I think a "Start here, if you ride this type of terrain, try this.." would be helpful. Having spent ample time on the MTe, and still loving it, I found my favorite setting, but it's not necesarily straight forward. 

I'm curious how similar the MT's suspension feels to the MTe — especially with the MTe's ability to feel like the rear is 160mm when you need it —with it weighing ~10 pounds less. Curious to hear more!

Would be interesting and bet it would be pretty informative to a lot of people if someone made a chart of stack, head angle, and how much spacers change reach numbers.

Losing 1cm of reach with 20mm of spacers would assume a 45° HTA?

I was a bit shocked when they had the DH prototype in carbon for their race team without any aluminum mules but clearly they did a good job of keeping things under wraps. That product development cycle is crazy long though, just looking back the SB 5.5 came out in 2016 when 29er trail bikes and 1x12 drivetrains were a new thing with a 66.5 HTA and a 442 reach for a size large.

Edit: I guess 1x12 existed in 2016
