Just a followup to a few things from earlier. I tried an MRP SXg bash guide - the lower guide makes more noise than it solves. I could hear the chain hitting it, and the little bit of rubber it has lining it isn't enough to silence. Plus running an OChain, I had to run both the upper and lower guides fairly far away to clear the OChain. I also tried the STFU finned tape, but the adhesive won't stick to my Santa Cruz chainstay protector. I wanted to use the STFU tape to supplement the stock protector, and the double sided tape just won't stick. I also tried double sided Gorilla tape which I've had good luck with in the past but that also peeled right up.
Either way, it's pretty damn quiet now that I figured out the mastic tape on crank arm thing.

What options are there for this? Hot waxing your chain to give some damping? Belt conversion kit?

It should be possible to fit appropriately sized o rings between few of the low end gears, that should help with the ringing

It is unreal. Zero metallic clanging, no more shopping cart, sideways landings are silent. It’s insane. Honestly and totally different experience on the bike. It’s how $10k bikes should be out of the box.
To be fair, I also put elastic bands around each cog on the cassette. That definitely got rid of some reverberations but the hot waxing was the real champ.
If you want a quiet bike, do a hot wax. No question. Maybe my new XO T type change was defective (?) but I’ve had this same sensation on so many other bikes.
I just used a $50 slow cooker. It does take 30 min to melt the wax but worked fine. Hopefully it lasts more than a few rides. I’ll happily redo it every week for this result.

My chain seemed extra rattle-y. And my cassette amplified it.
The elastic bands were as per the suggestion above. I couldn’t find o rings to fit though. The elastics dampened the ringing of the cassette. Previously, if I flicked the cassette, it rang and reverberated. Not the rubber stops the vibration and it sounds more like a subtle thud.

Hot wax is good because it fills the gaps in chain rollers so they don't rattle, but it doesn't last very long, maybe on dh Ike where you don't pedal all that much you could get few days of riding before the noise comes back. Possible solution to not finding o rings of the right size is buying o ring cord of appropriate diameter and cutting the leght you need. If the gear spacing is 1.8mm, 2mm o ring cord could be good fit.

Waxing your chain will probably help, but if not you should do it anyway
It should be possible to fit appropriately sized o rings between few of the low end gears, that should help with the ringing
love this idea. i have always hated the resonance of cassettes but never considered damping them...
