Updates and first hits from Joel Anderson:
3rd practice day video from Hannah Bergemann. The video ends when Casey Brown looses at rock-paper-scissors and "gets to" be first to take on the "Princess Killer" drop. Unfortunately, Casey crashed on her attempt and was airlifted to the hospital. She has since reported that she suffered a broken tibial plateau but is otherwise doing OK. Healing vibes to Casey, so bummed for her not being able to complete her line. Hopefully the other girls will do her proud on it!
Just Ride podcast with Rob Warner, Eliott Jackson, and Thomas Genon on site in Utah, talking about everything Rampage. Great way to set the scene!
I am surprised, with Rampage happening tomorrow, there isn't more hype. Or maybe I'm not looking in the right places. Just feels a bit more muted this year.
is it just the repetition of the venue/event and over-saturation of insta reels and vlogs? mountain bikers know how incredibly bonkers finals day is and will most likely tune in, but a week of buffing old lines with nearly all the content looking the same as it tells the same story of the last 5-10 years isn't very compelling. vital's insta feed (the one the insta algorithm pushes, not what we post), is nothing but visually similar rampage posts from a massive number of riders, diggers, photographers. the lead-up is so diluted now, and therefore devalued as a result.
i can't wait for competition day and will stressed as ever though!
RedBull app has a Rampage 24/7 channel right now. And between IG, YouTube, Vital, PB, etc you still have empty time needing to fill with more content? I’m jealous of your free time.

I feel the same way. I think we're just not looking at the right places. I don't have IG, and my main mtb media sources are the front page of vital and pinkbike, where it's been fairly muted. But even just looking in this thread there's a fair amount of content. And apparently Redbull is blasting content like a teen that's just discovered masterbation.

Biggest issue is the stuff is just all over the place. I know for a lot of these riders this is the time to attract people to their personal media but it means you really got to look for it to find it all. And for some reason instagram always doesn’t want to play embedded videos for my phone.
