WHAT A RACE.

Yeah but this is the first time I could pick people already knowing how many points they will get.

My men’s team dominated the bottom half of the rankings😂

I think I'm done rollin underdogs in elite mens. I dunno if it was payin out in the early rounds but it just aint workin last 2 rounds. I think the experienced guys are really showing out later in the season.

Still love how unpredictable DH is. No matter what nerdy calculations you do on min-max fantasy values.

Yep, my underdog team got obliterated too. I had fun running calculations on the juniors to find the best value riders though.I was pretty surprised by the results of that. For example, some of the 2nd and 3rd place finishers were high in value, but eclipsed by cheap riders with poor finishes.

Alright now let's set an over/under on me picking expensive reliables in Les Gets and having all them crash out while underdogs take over the top 10... Sigh

(EDIT: yeah i ate shit again... 220th straight up dropping in the ranks. Time to stop picking the best qualifiers and just pick the best racers.)

Oh, also... Kale SMOKED us. Largest Fantasy winning margin so far. 75 points ahead of second place. What a friggin call. Even with a few 'negative points' picks, absolutely crushed that round. Picked all the winners and then filled the rest out near perfectly. Considering best score was only 1588. Maybe closest margin to perfect score from a fantasy user so far? Not sure.

Hi! I don’t mean to be impatient, I just would like to ask, how long does it take until someone from Vital gets in touch with me, about the round prizes? For my huge surprise (especially that I was on holiday and only had little time to create my team) I have managed to get 2nd place in Andorra. I am very happy and excited about it! Thanks!

Prelim team until I know the weather clears up :/

@sspomer Troy Brosnan is a hundred bucks, I know it is his 100th world cup, but I'm assuming that should be at least 100k!

I was surprised to see the price for Antoine Rogge ($53,000). I root for the guy at all times. He's been one of the best performing privateers and has been on a tear the past month (a 1st and a 2nd in races with 100-rider fields in France) but still, there are some solid WC regulars who are less expensive for the Fantasy.

Hi @sspomer

Wondering if you got my return emails on July 22nd. Have not heard back yet so figure they might have gone to spam or junk maybe.?

Thanks

alright, picks sorted. of course as a mudder nothing feels safe and i just started handing out picks like Oprah. You get a pick! You get a pick! You get one!!

Spomer do prices steadily increase through out the year like... General inflation (upon performances). Or am I misremembering yet again? Had to leave out one rider I was bummed about but... Just couldn't budget it.

Did pretty good with my pre qualies team. Only 2 didn’t make it through. Now time to mix it up and jinx a handful of riders

ya my issue is always picking the 'statistically' good riders in TT/Qs

while knowing it's all about how you hold speed to finals and not crack under pressure. there are a few names, and not even young guys, in elites I can think of that always have solid 'pre-race' results and then are nowhere to be found on finals day. it's a bummer cuz I want to pick em and want them to do well but... history shows :/

Guy in 61st place can't be that big of a jinx! I practically gave up on my PB fantasy after half my team didn't qualify and I got a whopping 43pts in VDS. Also the Vital format is FAR SUPERIOR, with the picks locking post quali...

Me personally, I'd prefer if we had to choose 8-10 riders before Quali. I want to pick a few riders I truly believe could win. As it is now I have 18 riders picked and most of them have practically no chance to get on the podium, but they give points.

As much as I agree it would increase difficulty, the reality is the current format is more fun for the average user as well as 'makes for tighter racing' to echo current sentiments about DH.

At the very least, I would agree with you as it would take away the 'calculating odds' part of vital fantasy. Even though, that strategy doesn't guarantee you a win or anything. I'd genuinely be interested in like... A poll to see who would want to switch to pre-qualies picks, or stick with post-qualies picks.

I'd love to do pre-qualies just to increase the variance. It's kinda like how riders had 'protection' removed Smile

Might as well pick all your riders for all the races at the beginning of the season to go with that logic

Congrats to Hannes.

I'm glad to see my savage gut call to not go Oisin paid out, but also surprised most of the top performers didn't pick Ronan. Very good value picks on everyone's part.

It's weird to do relatively 'poorly' and still go up in the overall ranks. Meaning dudes at the top once again struggled. Props to Hannes squeaking value out of Atwill and Piercy. Solid moves that didn't even cross my mind. And probly the fewest juniors I've seen on a winning team. Not sure if that says more about juniors pricing or if it just means they are so well-aligned in pricing to finish that they tend to break even at best. Well played.

Also spent the full allotment aside from the impossible 900 left over from TB. Talk about economic!

Also ONE point separating first and second? That's gotta be a first right? Wow. So grats to JMS as well

Yeah, wow, this catches me by surprise. I just got lucky this time. Always try save on the junior purchases and try to value up things in the elite picks. Worked out pretty well this time.

Is there going be fantasy for World Champs? Looks like the format will be a little different with no Q2's

just went live - https://www.vitalmtb.com/fantasy/2025/world-championships-champery

GAME CLOSES BEFORE ELITE QUALIFYING on Friday Sept. 5, 11:50pm PST

Even though World Champs has no points, we'll be awarding the same points structure for race finishes as a World Cup to determine Fantasy results.

Legend for setting up a champs fantasy.

I am assuming this acts as a one off and isn't included in overall standings? Or are you gonna include it in the overall fantasy rankings?

These points will count towards overall (we have to have points to run the game and they automatically get tallied to overall). I’d mentioned at beginning of year that’s there’s no overall competition this year tho. I’ll throw top 5 some shirts or something

My only goal in the overall is to beat Schroeder. That's it and that's all. Man vs man. Ginger vs ginger.
