Can't make this stuff up. Zink and Shaw fined for public urination at National Champs in Mammoth this weekend.
I'm all for being respectful to the venue and not turning trails into toilets, but an actual fine is pretty rich. Way to make the kids wanna race!

it's also being reported that racers who bought "bike" lift tickets aren't allowed up the lift to track walk/spectate w/o an additional $10 spectator ticket. bummer if true.
Though people should make an effort to be out of sight when at an event like this if they choose to take a hedge ticket, with women and kids around you need to be very careful where you choose to release.
At our local trails there are no toilets so it's a bush toilet every time, but the woods are also very popular with walkers and families so some times you end up holding out for ages as the last thing you want is a kid to be there just as you get to business.
Got a feeling they were made an example of as they are big names in the bike world and can probably afford the fine more than your average non pro racer and make more headlines and awareness at the same time.
I'd buy one.
