My latest bike came with 35mm Truvativ Descendant 20mm riser bars.
They seem to have similar flex characteristics to that of an Anvil.

The new model - 25mm risers- advertise “fine tuned carbon laminate... more flex and feel”
One Up have an oval shape for more “vertical compliance” - makes sense, but I’m easily fooled.

Anyone have any experience?
A difference you can notice? Or Marketing hype?

The OneUp bar works quite well.

Here's a review and a flex test from Vital:

I kind of go back and forth on this.

I have had a few sets of RF Next and Chromag bars that I thought felt fine.
Then, I got some of those Truvativ Descendant bars and cut them down to about 770mm and personally found they were a little harsh. I ride a lot of long, fast, and chattery downhills (Tahoe, Downieville) and I noticed a lot of hand and arm fatigue. Obviously, there are a number of factors, but I am pretty good about fork setup and tire pressure. The strange thing is that I noticed this on trails I have ridden many, may times.

For my next bike, I think I will go back to metal. I'm happy to give up some weight for additional comfort and compliance.

I've been seeing adds for Tag Metals Ti alloy bars on Vital. I'm sure they're expensive, but most likely well worth the price for the comfort.

I have a set of One Up bars (35mm/780mm wide) and I definitely did notice the extra compliance when I first mounted them. I went from a 35mm/780mm RaceFace Affect aluminum bar and right away I could feel a difference. I was a bit surprised, as I expected to feel less chatter and high frequency vibrations from the trail, but what I primarily noticed was a reduction in the harshness or jarring sensations coming from front-end compression and g-out forces (e.g. drop to flat, jumping into a berm, etc.). I would liken the feeling to having a fork service or 5mm more travel. Whether this reduces arm pump and fatigue significantly is pretty hard to say for certain, but I certainly found there to be a noticeable 'feel' difference in how the OneUp bars 'took the edge off' of bigger hits.

Another vote for the One Up bars here. They're the real deal.

Thanks guys. I really appreciate the info and feedback.

Just ordered a set of One Up bars.
Again, their communication and service have been excellent.
(They sorted out a “free shipping” glitch for me.)

Got a new bike with the Truvativ Descendant bar and immediately suffered from a lot of hand pain. Swapped to a Oneup 20mm rise and it alleviated a lot, but not all, of the pain.

While waiting on my One Up bars to arrive, I had my forks “serviced”.

The local experts, NSD Dynamics (Brisbane, Australia) offer a “Hyperformance” service.
Low friction seals, “better oil”, and bushes “resized”, etc.

A significant improvement. The bike feels less “harsh”. The Bars don’t feel as bad.

Don't blame the messenger they say.

Ha!
Classic - Bars “I’m just telling you - these forks are HARSH!”

Also, don’t want to “disguise” an issue elsewhere.

My old wrists should be happier with plusher forks, and some assistance from the bars when they arrive.
