That looks like it might deal with my well hydrated, “leaking” head! US$20 + $17.50 shipping is not the worst I’ve seen. One headband I found had automatic shipping to Australia at over $100! (Shame our $ is worth US.56c right now!!

It kind of looks like it would actually direct the sweat straight into your eyes?

Might try one of these.

It’s really bothering me. Might be worse since going full face.
Added a comment about press release Introducing The RUNT by Diaz Suspension Design 3/22/2020 6:27 AM

I’m running Fox 36 160mm Grip 2.
Older foolish rider. No huge jumps
80 psi and both low and high speed compression fully open.
The forks couldn’t be described as “plush” in my opinion.

Being in Australia, could I get the local suspension experts (NSD Dynamics) to valve the compression and rebound to your specs if I ordered a runt?

It’s hot in the Australian desert. I sweat eating chili. I sweat a lot riding up hills in the summer heat. ( I love chili, and riding.) Usually I wear a bike specific bandanna or skull cap under my helmet. Seems to work for a while, then it’s like a ... more »

MTB coaches are always a good option to overcoming fear aswell Plus one. The ”Total Rider Program” training from Hit Bikes in Caloundra, QLD is blowing my mind. The training is “next level”.

Update on the OneUp: I’ve tweaked the lever position and ridden a bit more on the new post. What I described as “notchy” is in fact a noticeably higher “break away” force when my full weight is on the seat, Not terrible, but if I take a little weight ... more »

Thanks for the tip. The One Up lever seems pretty good. The “notchiness” is felt at the lever when releasing with my fat ass on the seat. Not felt when releasing the seat back up. Think is originates at the seat post mechanism. Might “break in”. Not ... more »

One Up post. The ordering, communication and delivery (to Australia) were A1 The Post action is great. The lever seems a tiny bit “notchy” to release with my weight on the seat. Not when returning the seat. The extra 20mm travel in the short post is ... more »

Thanks everyone. The time taken and the info is appreciated. I’ve ordered a 120mm One Up post and lever. (The extra 20mm was a deciding factor.) I’ll report back.

I serviced the Giant dropper, but it’s no better - I think the actuator is a little corroded. Maybe needs a new air cartridge. Planning a new post. My frame is a little restrictive for length of post installed. I can only get 100mm drop with the original ... more »

I’m going through a similar phase. I’ve found Moto X googles great, except for long slow climbs. After a face plant cut my nose badly with my Rudy Projects, I bought a Fox Pro frame full face. Feel a little safer wearing the sunnies with that, but have ... more »

Like my, what seemed like, well padded Rudy Project glasses, I’d be concerned about many of the industrial eye protection options (Which I’ve worn many times) Cutting into my nose with a face plant type impact. The glasses caused significant nose damage ... more »

Is it obvious how to service it? Can I adjust the air pressure? (No - replacement air cartridges available.) (I’ll google it) - googled - https://youtu.be/3Dy6lukV8Bc I’d like to do that. I think I’ll fit a One Up lever and new cable and see how I like ... more »

Although many people don’t seem to like them, I’m a big fan of Crank Bros “Egg Beaters”. They release like lightening once the technique has become second nature. “Lead with the heal” - twist - the same as all clipless pedals. They never jam, being a

More good tips - thanks. I have been liking the goggles already. Sweat has been a problem, and as Falcon mentioned, the googles are far less prone to “sweat issues” (Water on the inside of the lens) so far. Smile while riding folks!!

Wow - I’m rating my face plant 4/10 based on your scale!! Thanks for the info. I’m finding the MX goggles and the Fox full face ok, so far. The goggles are a bit hot when stopped, or going slow - I’ll look at the Smith and POC offerings. I’ve been stopping ... more »

And automobiles being driven by someone updating their Facebook status is going to kill more cyclists than all the wild animals combined. That’s one reason we ride off road. That, and the fun!!
