Hey StudBeefpile, this is Charlie Sponsel. I live in Silverdale and I'm on the board of Evergreen Westsound. I'm helping lead an Evergreen work team to "flowify" the trail Derailed right now, and I'd love to hear your feedback more in detail. Our goal was to make this blue beginner flow trail more fun for beginners and for expert riders, too. Sounds like you're not a big fan of the changes that are happening at Port Gamble. Three thoughts by someone who has a fictional serial killer as their avatar: 1.) People with more resources and less integrity will always have an advantage in competition. 2.) It's amusing that mid pack pro means suckage, you're in the 99th percentile of all mammals on a space rock who can ride bikes. 3.) It's nice to have a low number next to your name on a piece of paper and maybe even get a cheap trophy but there is probably more actual reward in learning how to not define our (GO TEAM 35!!!) middle age self worth by performance...

Thanks for the response. I have an older 140mm pike on my Offering that came off another bike. I want to get a new fork soon, can't decide if I'll stick with 140 or go to 150. And if I go to 150 I can't decide between the Pike Ultimate or Lyrik Ultimate. Any reason you went with a Pike over the Lyrik?

Okay, I’m 5 rides in and I can say it’s super crisp & precise. It’s a little weird to not get that tactile click from the controller but man is it fast. I realized I could push the controller from the lever side to upshift, sort of like the outboard shimano paddle, which is super convenient. I’m still playing with the controller position on the bars but so far I’m liking the system a lot.

I went with the travel recommendation of some friends with Offerings. I’ve had Pikes and Lyrics in the past and didn’t really notice a huge difference, so I went with the lighter option, since I’ve been doing more pedaling over the last couple years. Hope this helps!
