Hey, thought I’d clear up the fair question you asked here! I’m not into racing enduro anymore or heavily focusing on being competitive and haven’t been for a couple years now. I’ve been racing since I was 11 years old and I got tired of it. I’m enjoying competing now and then In different events but focusing on travelling to cool locations and filming & riding with new people and friends and sharing my experiences and working alongside my sponsors. Change has been good and I’ve found my feet doing this. Cheers Lew

Hey Guys, another update. Austin was one of the first people I called after getting hurt. We're buddies and talk/ride together fairly regularly. I let him know what was up and wanted to confirm that he was staying in Europe for the next month like I thought he was. He's racing Maribor this weekend and isn't planning on coming back home until after the WC in Switzerland next month either way. That was good news as he's easily ready to go if I pull out. I also contacted USAC to make sure they get him everything he needs to compete...

Thanks folks ... still remember meeting Spomer at a NORBA so many years ago and knowing instantly I’d met someone who got this whole MTB thing. Years of Littermag then Vital later and that still holds true! Cheers for the good times on this journey of bikes!

With P7 in Andorra, David Trummer scored his best World Cup result to date. But who is David Trummer, and what about the team he races for, Team Racing Dudes? Some answers below: ------------------------------------------------- YT introduces: Team Racing Dudes Three rad dudes, three fast bikes, one hell of a season: Since David Trummer has been kicking ass at the latest World Cup races, voices have been getting louder asking who this guy is and where he's been all the time. The "Team Racing Dudes" sponsor YT is happy to shed some light on the matter by introducing David and his...

quote from the article above - If Sambo swapped to clipless pedals, the world would definitely implode from the inside out, so maybe this wheel size diameter increase will only cause a local tornado somewhere.

So in 2009 at the Maribor World Cup the racing was really close. Interesting to see who was racing then compared to now. Here are those results and some pics from a decade ago. It should be noted, in 2010, they raced in Maribor (new/different track IIRC) and Gwin got 7th. 2009 Maribor World Cup DH Top 10 Men's results 1. Fabien Barel, 3:03.33 2. Sam Hill, 3:04.04 +.71 3. Us tall guys never had bikes that fit until recently. Big thumbs up to longer reach numbers from this proud Team Tall Guy rep, although I think there is a "too long" for every person. I'm 6'3" and wouldn't want to ride anything over 500mm, though I recognize there's a market for 500-530mm reach for people taller than me. As I've been sizing up, wheelbase is a concern, as 1300mm feels waaaaay too long to me. Some other random, unconnected thoughts: 1. This might be a tall guy thing, but short stems feel like doodoo. I'd rather run a 60mm...

In addition to saying he 'lost fitness' at the DH races and didn't like how little he got to ride, Martin also mentioned that he felt enduro racing made him a better bike rider. I can see how for some the semi-blind, fully-pinned nature of EWS racing might actually translate into a sharpening of handling skills that could be beneficial in DH. Clearly it works for Martin, and I'd love to see both Sam and Richie have a go at some World Cup DH racing again.
