Blanket statement here, but you had a high growth area in cycling and racing that was unmonitored for YEARS. I personally do not believe for a second that the sport was clean in the early days up until the association with UCI started recently. There was too much of an incentive and almost zero negative consequence for these riders. All it takes is one rider doing it to make everyone else feel like they have to in order to keep up. I love hearing the sound of tires scratching for traction, but I don't believe I've heard the tires sound like *this* before, at least not for pretty much the whole video.

Relative to the men's times, Chausson was faster. Back in 2001 she was 15% slower than Minnaar at Kaprun and Atherton was 23% slower than Hart at Val Di Sole. I was a mid pack pro racer back then and up until Chausson came on the scene, I could beat all the women. You could probably go back through more results than just this one that I picked, but she would routinely beat half of the men's times. Although these days, Atherton does seem to win by much bigger margins. Either way, they are both pretty badass.
