A bike manufactured in 2013 and the first couple months of 2014, hung with entirely 2014 parts, in shops in the spring of 2014, is a 2014 model. And there is nothing wrong w/ that. Why on earth call it a 2015? Afraid some anonymous jerk on a forum is going to accuse you of scrambling to add a bike to the lineup at the last minute? So what. -anonymous jerk

Too bad about the years-long marketing effort across the industry's big players to distinguish 110x20 front ends as 'for AM/DH only' and the resultant legacy of high-end 100x15 front wheels and entrenched belief among their users that 15QR would always be 'good enough' for XC/trail/AM. It might be nice, for a would-be USD fork designer in 2014, to have more axle with which to work, even for shorter travel forks. But no one dares bring a product to market that will alienate a bunch of crabby old guys who want everything new to work with everything old. Oh well.

(I am aware there are some countries outside of North America, but) this story is worthless without a clear definition of what 'franchise' means to YT. If at the end of whatever business gymnasitcs the bikes are not sold direct, then in NA it's just another bike brand, and the EUR pricing simply translated to dollars (today's exchange rate) in articles like this is totally misleading.

Thank you, Donny Perry. I was going to share this on social media, but then I realized too many of my 'friends' are the new breed of conservative that wouldn't be caught dead studying economic theory but frequently put on airs about understanding the economy through their work experiences and the intuitve obviousness of free markets, and will attack any conversation about wages as bellyaching and redistributionism by the lazy. I hope others' social networks are less hostile to discussions of fairness. And I hope our trade is more highly valued in the future.

It's disappointing that the marketing manager gets to tell the test engineer what he learned in school is no good for the company to communicate to the public, and so the message will be cheerful nonsense instead. Why treat your customer like they are too stupid to be even worth educating about your product and process? 150 cycles is meaningless. It's too few to represent any real-world situation. Testing different heights single cycle, then running out of height on your rig, and then switching to testing number of cycles single weight half way through the same experiement! That is bogus...

not excited about this. Quarterly earning reports are just going to make Fox push out NEW NEW NEW stuff that is all hype (like CTD) and undercut quality to reduce costs and raise earnings in the short run which is diminish the brand in the long run. Sad

What a stacked team--congrats to all. And you can see that it pays in a following at the amateur level. The slalom hill is a parade of SXs from through the years, and not a few Demos and P3s around either. Moar gravity in the USA.

RE: limiter @Easton_Cycling There are a number of mid-travel and mid-'strength' forks out in the world with 20thru (some RS Rebas and Revs, for example) that are right in the "trail" category. Front hubs and endcaps are one of the simplest places to build broad compatibility into the design, and to purposefully limit that. It's lame. Making 15QR some touchstone for product use, when it's an arbitrary, often marketing driven standard-ish. Just be up front about the intended use. It's such a patronizing move to try to make parts incompatible.

This reads suspiciously like a corporate press-release. Why do reviewers feel the need to insert so much speculative, kool-aid-drinking b.s. into an otherwise simple review. "I got one. It fits sloppy. It ventilates well. It looks great. It's relativeley expensive. I didn't crash on my head during the test period." Period. Here's the giveaway: "MIPS utilizes a low friction layer on the inside of the helmet liner to absorb much of the energy created by both unilateral or oblique blows to the head" Go find your old physics text books. Low friction systems do not absorb a bunch of crash...
