The plastic piece of protection bolted/glued to the bottom of the downtube that goes from the BB up about halfway the DT. It serves to protect your frame from rocks thrown up by the front wheel. It's purpose is exactly the same as a wrap.

Glad you are stoked! Often overlooked, never undervalued... the hydrophobic finish definetely makes cleaning an easier job, especially on a matte frame. Just as an FYI, our Covered Protection is a universal fit kit, but we've designed different models to match your frame style... Hardtail, Road&Gravel, eMTB, Steel. While they don't offer the same coverage as our Tailored Protection, they do offer the same great materials, and the most coverage per dollar in this product segment.

RideWrap is a no brainer. I installed it on my Patrol after leaning it against a fence to wash it and some of the paint scratching off. I wish I had installed it right away since it keeps the bike looking fresh and it seems like the dirt even washes off easier. On my new carbon Throttle hardtail, I would have ordered RideWrap but its an old frame so they don't have a kit. I went with an all mountain style sticker kit combined with heli tape. It is nowhere near as good of coverage and took more consideration on...

Ride Wrap on my Revel Rascal Invisiframe on my Intense M16c DYED Bro on my Trek Powerfly LT4 3M tape on my Trek Ticket S Custom cut full frame protection is sooo much nicer to have on the bike than none-full coverage. Also, difference in resale value of the bike with protection than without is a LOT more than the cost of the protection itself. In my book it's a no-brainer.

Thanks everyone for your comments, we love the discussion, and recognize that there are polarizing opinions on all types of matters in the space. The goal of this project was for us to take a measured approach in consideration of these options; in an open manner we wanted to share the results, no BS. We are now considering how to scientifically explore the difference, benefits, and downfalls, between 'wrap' and 'no wrap'.... should be fun, stay tuned!

Its the same physics equation, an absorptive layer that reduces the energy that the main structure will absorb. If you consider throwing a rock at a frame, if no protection is present that rock hits directly to the structure; if your lucky the structure, paint + base material, is strong enough to fully transfer the energy and thus stays fully intact; worst case the level of energy is to high and the structure of the cant absorb it, maybe a full blown hole, maybe just a weakened structure where a crack propagates after further riding, but real damage is done...

So I spoke to our head engineer... beyond aesthetic reasons, the barrier actually reduces potential damage from flying rocks. It's the same as how a helmet works, basically you are reducing the rate of deceleration, and thus the force, by having an absorbent layer between your head and the ground... this concept is also true of using a protective layer on your frame.

Damn ppl are angry against something they don't even have to buy. If you want to wrap your frame, GO WITH RideWrap. Nothing to say except exceptional quality ! I used an Invisiframe kit too, the coverage is not as elaborate and you don't have as many thing into the kit. Happy to see that now RW even offers shampoo in the kit! Don't have to buy the JnJ baby shampoo that you won't really use. Keep up the good work, I'll keep wrapping my frames

I got double whammy of grief from friends because I have an eMTB and I bought a ridewrap kit for my levo SL, it looks amazing (matte finish) and is protecting my frame from the wicked sharp brush we have in so cal. I am glad I purchased.

I'm a local builder. Allows you to get to the worksite and not be smoked. It is alot of work already. As you get further along or up the trail you have to ride more in to get to the starting point. I wish I had my ebike on the last trail that took 9 months to build. I would have finished it in 7 months.

Love to see this! Check out @ebike_trailwork on Instagram. 100% of my eMTB rides I at least have a silky saw strapped to my bike and constantly cut out trees. We can all get along, and give back to the trails. Peace love and bikes.

I also don't care if I upset anyone with honesty, and the thing is, you are also acting with a type of entitled mentality, complaining about a company trying to innovate and clearly fill a space that people where looking for. Invisiframe from the UK were the first ones doing it and no one in north america was, hence ridewrap.
