10/23/2020 11:36am Hates ebikes, is all of a sudden concerned for hikers. Talk about being emotionally invested in being an ebike hater, lol. With your average rider on an average grade climb, a full powered ebike can climb at around 10mph. Regular bikes and ebikes can then descend on the same trail as fast as the rider is capable of. In many cases the ebike won't be able to go as fast as the regular bike on the way down. So climbs aren't the problem, it's the downhills. Both types of bikes have the same safety issues on multi-use trails, because they...

10/22/2020 4:07pm I may not be in line with your original comment but your follow-up merits legitimate consideration by all, you should have led with that one. We touched on this topic a little bit in our podcast about e-bikes. The question was raised: do these lower-powered bikes get a pass? There are no easy answers. There are trails that are closed to e-bikes. If your bike has a motor and a battery, regardless of the power rating, you aren't allowed to ride there. Right now, those are the rules and I hope people will respect it. (anecdotally, there are far too...

10/22/2020 4:07pm I Love the lightweight ebike direction! They did a great job with the spec on this. On the Turbo SL I had to change the fork, shock, and even the rear link to make it ride how I wanted. That adds up $. This seems more on point.

10/22/2020 4:06pm Got to sneak in a ride on one of these last week - it's pretty awesome. It doesn't have the giggle inducing power wheelie kick of a full power ebike (or the 90s DH bike feel on the descents) - it feels more like a good enduro/trail bike with some extra oomph. Other riders don't even notice you're on an ebike, keeping snarky comments to a minimum.

7/5/2019 8:24am Thanks for the props! Can't promise it's something we'll always be able to do, but we really felt like it was all the bike needed this time around and we were stoked that it was a fairly small change from an engineering standpoint - it was that extra little bit we were looking for after spending a year on the bike and collecting feedback from riders.
