Val di Sol will let us know if this is a trend. I hope not. But everyone's off season target had Gwin in the bullseye, so I guess not totally surprising. Gwin elevated the racing environment and now it's a new playing field. Looking forward to next week! P

by AJ Barlas Wheels. The simple round devices that bring so much joy into many of our lives. It doesn't really matter how light, what size, material, or even whether they're perfectly round, so long as they allow us to rally down the trail with a grin on our faces most are none the wiser! Most. At some point just having hoops that work becomes the need for hoops that are in a certain weight range and can withstand a large degree of punishment. We all have, or will, arrive at one or more of these conclusions some day, but...

That would seem like more risk than reward on what riders have been saying about those. Besides, I thought they used inflated sheep stomachs in Fort William. P

by Lee Trumpore e*thirteen has embraced the rising popularity of all-mountain bikes and enduro racing by designing components specifically for the unique needs of each. With the TRSr crankset (short for TRS Race) they’ve taken this a step further by eliminating a traditional triple-ring setup and spider in favor of a unique one piece, interchangeable one or two-ring design. TRSr Crank Highlights Spiderless chainrings shave grams and efficiently transfer power Uses integrated Guidering that can be interchanged with other single or integrated shift rings Exalite R forged material Single ring: 28, 30, 32, 34, 36-tooth options // Double: 22/36, 24/38...

Mr. P Added a comment about feature First Look: The All-New Santa Cruz SOLO (5010) Trail Bike

Looks like a great whip to summit snowy peaks and ride in boats. ;-) Bike looks rad and the cinematography was off the charts and the song nailed it. But the bike/adventure fantasy stuff was a bit much (heli drop on peak, "waiting" boat, etc, where is Excalibur rising out of the lake?) Dunno if I want the bike, but I want to go back to Scotland now! P

by AJ Barlas At a time when the majority of industry chatter is around 'new' wheel sizes, frame materials and Enduro - testing anything that doesn't check all the appropriate boxes can result in it appearing a little lackluster and obsolete. Thankfully I'm not really one to concern myself with the rumor mill and e-spec too much, at least not without looking deeper into the product being speculated about before forming my own opinion. Nevertheless, everything I had discussed and heard from trusted, respected riding buds and others regarding the Santa Cruz Blur 4x left me very intrigued to throw...

bturman Liked a product review Tested: 2013 Specialized S-Works Carbon Enduro 29

Review by Brandon Turman // Photos by Shawn Spomer When Specialized launched the Enduro 29, they did so with a bang. It was clear from the get-go that it wasn't your typical wagon wheeler. Not only is it a 29er with 6.1-inches of travel, but at 16.9-inches the chainstays are surprisingly short - shorter, in fact, than many 26-inch wheeled bikes. Needless to say, we were super curious to know how a bike with big wheels, big travel, and a super short rear end would handle out on the trail. 300+ miles later, it's time to let you guys in...

Review by Sean “Griz” McClendon // Photos by Ian Collins and Griz Now in its third production variation and built around proven advice from Giant Factory Off-Road racers Danny Hart and Andrew Neethling, the 2013 Giant Glory 0 meets world-class demands with new geometry, a sharp look, and X0 components. We’ve been eager to become familiar with Giant's Maestro Suspension design and feel out the new slacked out 63.5-degree head angle. In a carbon crazed world the Glory 0 remains aluminum at 36.4-pounds out of the box. We like this accomplishment. While Hart's UCI World Championship title may not attract...

Adding to the cables that are similar length, you can tape the cables together for a span to give more of a "one cable" look. Black tape for black cables, etc. Black cables for black frames help camouflage the cables a bit. P
