metadave Added a comment about press release Jeff Steber Named CEO of Intense Cycles

1/19/2018 4:30pm
Save sales? How much were they selling in Canada before the move to MEC and direct? Every shop in Canada I was ever in, Intense was back up while everyone pushed Santa Cruz up for effectively the same bike/price while OGC provided them terrible distribution service. They refused to sell my small shop one frame because we wouldn't order five. I've worked in shops in Canada for 14 years and I've seen this all over. Now they've opened themselves up and are selling more bikes and you're mad? You saying they don't pull much weight in Canada anymore is BS...

metadave Added a comment about feature The Inside Line Podcast - Cam McRae, Co-founder of NSMB

7/5/2017 12:25pm
NSMB was the first mountain bike related site I came across at 14 years old. It opened up a whole new world for me to look at as a kid growing up on the east coast of Canada with our limited trails at the time. Although my visits to NSMB slowed for a while, I find their articles increasingly relevant to me as a more mature rider. Keep it up Cam

Or not . Stop trying to be so hardcore bro dude and be real. Water bottles are rad. Are you going to take a huge pack on a 15-20k loop? No, that's dumb. Actually going on a huge epic? That extra 650mm of h20 is good to have outside of you pack

That's a shame. He seemed fit, fast and seemed to have a much better attitude going into this season, a bit more relaxed. The last few season DH fans have slagged him a big for his bad attitude, myself included, but in all the interviews so far this season he just seemed like a happier person. Hope he heals up...

Again, looking at the qualification times, it's was super tight and nothing really out of the ordinary other than Loris having a blazer, but he was a top 10 contender all last year as was shaw. I guess we still need to see where race runs place them, but I see no advantages so far in times

smelly Liked a comment about Feature WINNING BIKE: Alexandre Fayolle's Polygon DH9

There's no telling what would have happened. Loic, Gee, and Gwin have been on plenty of winning runs only to crash out in a seemingly benign section. Is it likely Loris or Troy or Minnaar might have bested that time? Historically speaking, sure. But in the top 15 riders there also likely would have been some slower runs, crashes, and mechanicals and Fayolle put so much time on the rest of the field could have had a podium-worthy run even if the weather held. That's how racing works. You can make predictions based on the past, but anything can happen...

Eoin Liked a comment about News Story RESULTS: Qualifying, 2017 Lourdes World Cup DH

We need this reminder on every page: These are the 7th and 9th ranked guys from last year, and they are both ~20 years old, so it is completely normal that they keep progressing each year into their mid-twenties.

Let's be real though for a moment, Loris and Luca were top 5 contenders all last season as is Minaar and the times are reasonably tight. I don't see anything out of the ordinary here looking at the numbers.
