That is the WP version of the new Onyx 38 damper with the Cone Valve. DVO NZ reached out after I commented on it as it turns out they had been testing it for a few months already. I've had it all in bits and will run it on the Dyno tomorrow but so far- -Yes it is an actual Cone Valve design, but on the base valve instead of the mid valve. In my humble unpolished opinion, snobbery is very often the source of dumb criticism. DVOs are more than fine, for their target. But bells and whistles are demanded by the ones who cannot differentiate LSC from HSC, or riding with wrong sag.. The DVO jade (original dh shock) its a fantastic piece of simplicity.

Yeah this is literally a DVO Jade X with the new compression unit and an Onyx, bith just have slightly different red ano dials

Suntour and DVO parts are not compatible. These seem to use parts that still even say “for riders by riders” haha

If they watched too much Paul Aston they would have given it 500mm chainstays as well instead of the 430ish that it has now. I used to like the guy but insisting that every single brand (except maybe Banshee?) has wrong bike geometry turned me a bit off from his channel. sorry for the OT
