Apparently everyone forgot to tell these two nobodies that ebikes are only for losers and old fat guys. Haha Seriously though, I've said it before and I'll say it again: Percent of people who hate ebikes before they try one: ~100% Percent of people who hate ebikes after they try one: ~0%

You make a good point here - a lot of people forget that Boost isn't just about wheel stiffness. Having that extra space in BB/Yoke area (small though it may seem to non-engin-nerds) is a pretty major ingredient in what allows us to shorten the CS's and add enough material/structure to keep all that stiffness in there. It also allows for more tire/mud clearance. In the end, it's a pretty big benefit (and this is from a guy who nearly put his fist through a wall when he heard about another new 'standard'). --JP

This is a cool piece, but I hope everyone read the disclaimer on the last slide and paid particular attention to the statement "The models are an approximation to the real bikes..." The truth is you can't get a very accurate model without measuring these bikes extremely accurately. Example: I was discussing something about our suspension with our design team, and asked if changing something by a millimeter or two would have a noticeable effect on the bike. Their reply was, "Millimeter?! We were laboring over thousandths of a inch!!"

You forgot the part about getting a flat at the top and then pinning it to the bottom on the bare rim. The manufacturers love that because those huge Interbike demo fleets are super cheap and riding over the roughest terrain on the planet with no tire does virtually zero damage to the rim. When you return the total'ed bike, make sure you let the manufacturer know how disappointed you were in the test ride.

Didn't mean it seriously. I own a Session and can confirm there's very little - if any - flex in that rear end. The "looks flexy" comment is an old-school internet message board nerd joke, right up there with "Does it come in rootbeer?" and "Will there be an RM7 for freeriding??" Rock steady, --JP
