Kris68 Liked a comment about Feature Vital MTB Face Off: The Best Flat Pedals
1/5/2020 6:45am Well, if you look into it you'll find that there isn't any science behind the Catalyst pedal. In fact, you'll find that the studies that James Wilson refers to just backs up flat pedals in general, and that there is nothing there that indicates that a longer platform should be beneficial. Hint: if that was the case, why isn't the pedal offered in different sizes to fit different people? That said, I suppose its ok to like the Catalyst pedal, just don't tell me that the design is based on some kind of science :-)

hudson7557 Added a reply to riding solo in predator territory
11/29/2019 10:17am I live in Colorado and grew up riding the front range where we get a bunch of coyotes, mountain lions, and bears. I do think about the predators getting me, I’ve been stalked by a mountain lion on Apex before, that thing got within ten feet of us before I saw it. It’s definitely scary but you can’t let something...

1/17/2018 5:37am Moustaches. I don't understand the hate, isn't this the type of universal compatibility that everyone is asking for when they bitch about standards? Only problem is you can't fit that All In tool in there anymore. You don't need to buy this if you already have a bike with some cranks. If you are upgrading your cranks, this makes a lot of sense, cause you can take those same cranks with you to a new frame no matter that BB standard. This is precisely what people want when they bitch about standards. Apparently you can't win, even with sneaky moustaches.

It's always worthwhile to remember that people on the internet (PB especially) are mainly there to bitch and if they had something like a product failure you're sure as shit gonna hear about it over and over and over again because they're upset. But someone who's happy with the bike will likely keep quiet because they don't feel the need to vent like an upset person would. I'm not saying there aren't issues, I'm just saying you're gonna hear about what went wrong a lot more than you'll hear about what went right. I've also noticed on PB the mentality...

iceman2058 Liked a comment about Feature Vital MTB Face Off: The Best Heavy-Duty Disc Brakes
12/22/2017 6:18am When a brand has so much OEM success, it can be very hard to sell parts on the aftermarket. In such cases there will always be a healthy supply of used brakes that people have taken off their bikes because they want to personalize their ride or whatever, which drives down the second hand price. As for wondering how the Code scored so high, simple answer: that's how good it is. Try one and you'll see.

12/22/2017 6:14am We opted out of any machine testing as we wanted to keep this about the real-world experience. Yes, this introduces some tester bias but we really wanted to evaluate the brakes on the trail more than anything else. On that topic, it's equally possible to have a brake set up wrong and turn in a less meaningful score on a dyno. As for the format, in order to keep things somewhat more digestible, all our Face Off articles follow the same formula: the podium finishers get a more thorough review, while the rest of the contenders make do with a...

12/22/2017 6:07am OK, we need to get real here for a bit. First of all yes, as we pointed out in the article, SRAM has had quality issues with the Guide family of brakes. The most common problem is the master cylinder piston which has a tendency to get sticky over time, especially in hot weather. In our experience, SRAM has been good with warranty replacement, although there have been supply issues from time to time. Now, for your problem: "they get incredibly spongy", "to the point where the lever touches the grip", and "happens on every single one of the Guide...

4/29/2017 12:39pm Also minnar is way too methodical to not have tested it. The dude is concerned about an extra ounce of Stans in his tires and wants half click on his suspension. I doubt he didn't do his homework.

4/29/2017 12:36pm As someone who is pretty much exactly Gregs's size and who had long struggled to find a bike that fits properly until the whole longer, lower, slacker thing came into play I really understand where he is coming from! It's wonderful thing to get on on a bike and just have it feel right, and when you are 6'3"+ there usually isn't an option to upsize! It's just a matter of searching for the biggest bike available and making it work. To me the bike just looks right and the wheels are totally in proportion with the size of it...
