Thanks for the reply. I have the 661 Recons, which are very very light. Those and the old Kyle Straights, which are past their prime. These things sound good.

I have some 661 lightweight guards. The foam does fine but they move too easily in a fall. How well do these stay in place?

Isn't that called a "frame review"? Surely a review of bikes available on the shop floor should be of the bikes as they are sold? I'm happy to hear how the bikes compared as the manufacturer intended them to be. If that affects performance then I'll get that from the review and make a choice based on the information provided. That said, the idea of a frame review is intriguing.

How about 29er vs 275 test? Maybe take the top 3 29ers from this test and race them against the top three from a 275 test. Also do the same with DH bikes. Then do DH bikes against trail bikes on a DH trail because everyone says these new trail bikes descend like a DH bike and I don’t believe them

Awesome test, seems like overall the performance of all the bikes is very similar. Other timed tests I would love to see: Capra 27.5 vs Capra 29 (same build) Entry level vs top spec bike (same tyres please) Commencal Meta 4.2 vs Commencal Meta Power with power off on descents

So based on this analysis (and your sample size of 2) the "fastest" bike is 1.1% faster than the "slowest" bike which is to say: a truly insignificant difference.

Agreed, by far the best article and pics on the Capra that appeared online today. Well done! Nothing game changing but another solid and well priced bike from YT. A shoot out with the Enduro, Nomad and Wreckoning would be fun.

Headshot Added a comment about press release BikeYoke Launches the REVIVE MAX Dropper

The fatter tubing looks far better than the skinny stanchions used in 30.9 and 31.6 dropper posts. I'd love one!

I am sorry, but why son ranty? We never said, we were the first ones to do 34.9 droppers. But we are the first ones, to design them dedicatedly for 34.9 seattubes and with long travel. Other posts are basically just adapted smaller diameter versions. It is even clearly mentioned in our text. Not sure, why you blame us or Vital for not having done "our research". People in glass houses....

I think that you’re misunderstanding what bikeyoke are saying in the PR. They’re not saying that they have the first dropper to fit a 34.9 seattube without a shim.

Only if they actually help someone win who would otherwise not have won but for his big heavy wheels. If everyone is on big heavy wheels then they will have had no impact whatsoever. As an aside, i have just arrived in 2018 with a brand new boost equipped, 27.5 (almost plus sized 2.6 tyres) enduro bike. The most positive...

Benoit Liked a comment about Feature Why Are E-Bikes Such a Touchy Subject in the U.S.?

You've got to appreciate the irony of the situation. Putting aside the trail access issues and other actual, real issues. E-bikes are getting so much shit in a country where people drive huge gas-guzzling trucks to the trail heads, where off-road moto and quads are widely accepted and sold. On the other hand these e-bikes are widely sold and used in Europe where most people are much more conscious about the environment, where laws are WAY more restricting about motorized off-road vehicles. Kinda strange in a way.

Varaxis Liked a comment about Feature Transition Patrol vs. Patrol - See How the 2018 Compares

Transition should be mailing you guys checks for doing such good marketing work for them. This is how you sell bikes. I love comparisons to see exactly why someone should choose one over another, especially when you have a myriad of choices. Doesn't help that people repeatedly say that you can't go wrong with any, when you're sure there's a choice that can better suit someone for no more cost than another. I had to look for the ads to see how you are keeping this kind of quality free. There's only 3 ads on the page: top banner (TLD...
