Regarding the bottom bracket, it looks like that Suntour crankset should work since it is using a threaded bottom bracket, commonly referred to as "English" or BSA. The Monarch Plus here is 3mm longer than the stock shock's eye to eye (200mm vs 197), so I used two offset bushing to counteract the geometry change. No issues with clearance, and it works very well.

He was probably referring to the SRAM XX1 crankset, which is 546g wit a 32t chainring. He never said SRAM held the benchmark, though they definitely set it when they introduced XX1 and as such are a worthy manufacture to compare to even with lighter options now such as the Next SL crankset.
