General Info
A somewhat overbuild CC bike for Dutch flat terrain and long (straight) distance rides that include stretches of tarmac. I did not want the Smart Shift battery to be in the downtube like it is on new Nicolai bikes. That looks 100% clean, but I want easy access to anything that could become a problem, so I designed my own battery box and had it 3D printed. (I'm aware that in the process I might actually create the problem I'm trying to prevent. 😀) I also designed the feed-tray on the front that can hold a few candy bars. I cut all decals at home with a vinyl cutter except for the wheel decals, they are from Slik. The color scheme was very (very) loosely Jaguar (Silk Cut) inspired and has a bit of Giant Stonebreaker vibe as well. OG's will know. :D 3 colors on a bike is a challenge to balance right. Also color coordination between brands is something I can loose sleep over. But Onyx, Nicolai, Slik, they all made it work. I wanted the yellow to match the Ohlins Yellow. (Ral 1007 is an exact match to the Ohlins Lowers.) The rear is Ral 4004 (Claret Violet.)
I will never do this again and whatever bike comes after this one will be raw and boring.
(I say this after every project bike, and it is never true.)
