That's likely the best thing to land on for a crash like that, a surface made to slide on if you crash at high speed Glad he's ok

I'd be afraid that landing it clean might lead to an even worse crash into the wall at the bottom. Insane speed with a crap surface for slowing down.

i fully understand wide rim + WT. 100%. got it. i understand the physics/idea in play here. i guess my real question/rephrased is: i, as a regular everyday rider, want to run a 25mm inner width rim. would maxxis recommend WT or strictly against it?

i guess what id like to know (and im not expecting to get answered) is did athletes ask for a tire, it was created, then WT was "invented" post to sell it to us normal folk? or did maxxis come up with the moniker of WT and athletes dont want to run 30+ mm inner width rims. it just doesnt make sense to me
