We ran DH races at Whiteface as part of the GES series 2007-2010 when the bike park was operational. The 2009 and 2010 races the times were 8 minutes plus with a few pros getting under 8 minutes(Neko Mulally won Pro with a 7.48)I know that UCI will not want a course that long but the . terrain is there with lift access

A World Cup at Whiteface would be awesome, but pretty sure this is just a rumor. They have no DH trails left and as Heikki Hall said, they would have to start from scratch. Currently, they still run the lift in the summer but do not allow MTBs on their mountain. The XC scene is growing there but they also do not allow E-Bikes on any trails in the town of Wilmington and pretty sure E-Bikes are in some of the WC races. They never liked having DH MTB or even downhillers there in the summer because they do not...

Listen guy. I can tell you've never been to Snowshoe. It's not flat in the slightest. It's 1430 feet of elevation drop in a mile and a half. It's freaking HARD to race. There is room to have a better World Cup track there. But it's not mandatory. DH World Cup racers putting in a 5-8 second sprint just above the Wild Zone is NOTHING. The sprint isn't even on flat ground. Vouilloz would laugh at it. SnowShoe is HARD. Benoit falling on flat ground breaking his scaphoid had nothing to do with the track. He put his hand out...

3 weeks ago I was practicing at the Rockcrusher Enduro and cased the straightaway jump on stage 2. Put my right crank down, destroyed my ankle/leg and then proceeded to crash. Had to put my foot back...

I remember Whiteface would also do a Chainless DH race after the regular DH race, some of the pro's one year actually had faster times on the Chainless run. I think the top times were around 7:40 - 8mins.

10/3/2023 6:28am Mt. Van Hoevenberg is for sure XC only. Whiteface used to do DH and it was for sure legit. Was my old stomping ground 20ish years ago. I did a jersey with my last business for the bike park before they shut down with Mike.

Would be a big surprise to see Lake Placid/Whitefish on the schedule. DH Mike...you lurking? He was pretty adament that he pushed every day all day for a World Cup there but that the wealthy elite of the mountain were super dismissive. I remember that 8 minute race weekend, he held a DH race followed by a chainless DH. Gerrit Beytagh won both...only 4 seconds slower chainless. The pics & video of that mountain were amazing looking. Could fire road down to get a start hut of 3 minutes. But pretty sure that's just not happening because rich people. And...

Lake Placid is where Whiteface is. DH Mike who runs the DVO Race Series at Bootleg Canyon used run the bike park there. It would be an interesting place to host a World Cup. I have been there since 2010 but it Long, technical trails, a total beat down. I think winning pro times were around 8 minutes? To keep it steep and under 3 minutes they would have finish mid-mountain.

2/13/2023 7:57am 5ten Kestrel lace...you got some velcro with them. As for that BOA...it blows. I literally blew up a pair after a very massive crash. They did me right at the time and sent me the lace ones. Been on em ever since.
